You'll be OK in about 8 hrs. Then you can go to sleep..

500 mg is a strong dose, especially if you aren't aclimated to it.

Drink a tall glass of water and a baby asprin; it will help.
Should last about half an hour or son.

there is time release niacin and non-flush niacin. also take it right before bed so you're asleep before any reduced effect hits you. i've had the same problem and finding the right niacin was the answer.

nothing to worry about… I regularly take 500mg. It will just go away in about 15-20 minutes.

It will burn out a lot of unwanted crap from your body though. Usually you get flushes wherever it’s “working”

“Non-flush niacin” is actually niacinamide, which lacks the main component.

it releases built up radiation. take your clothes off and see where you were sunburnt last time. high doses are used to release mental issues.

Small doses regulary help you stay out in the sun for longer times, you dont burn, the niacin stops that.

they used to add it to cerials. but stopped and made sunscreen creams instead. the niacin was better. the sunscreens are a bad thing as they do not do what they say. my family would get very sunburnt with sunscreen, but niacin added slowly a few months in build up to summer meant we as a family had a better time doing beach things.

I used to love the Flush!

I don't get that response anymore and kind of miss it.

I guess they made most of the niacin you can buy time release to prevent flushing.

It's harmless and good for your blood flow. Also releases pent up energy that causes inflammation if you don't burn it off. You're supposed to take melatonin first to prevent the flush.

I get a CRUNCH rather than a flush...

I remember throwing up on Niacin. Powerful supplement for sure.

The B3 flush should be a light, pleasant tingle. Try 2 or 300mg next time Oppy.

It used to make my face go red. I looked like a mad, angry alcoholic when I took it.

Niacin is good stuff. Just got to be moderate with the dose.

There's a treatment with flush niacin that seems to help COVID and jab. It's good for overall health too. Combine it with NAC. I was doing 2000mg 2x daily. The flush lessens after a while. The majority of it is on the first dose. Also, NAC and or melatonin keeps you from flushing when you hit a sweet spot. I personally liked the flush.

Yeah I tried a Niacin flush once, didn't like the feeling so was once and done. Potent it is. You know you'll be fine, it's like eating hot peppers for your veins.

niacin is a cardiovascular dilator. It opens up the capillaries and increases blood flow...especially the ones nearest you skin, thats why you turn blood red and feel hot.

it will fade away.. along with the nasty looking "rash" flush if you got that.

You'll look like a lobster for an hour or so but it will go away don't freak out. I've did it also.

My nurse friend thought is was funny she knew all about it.

Apparently some people can't take big doses of Niacin.

Drink water, its water soluble.

The first time you take Niacin, it breaks loose your mast cells causing the flush.

After that, there are less and less mast cells to break loose, so the flush lessens. The good thing about the flush is you can feel your blood reaching EVERYWHERE.

Anyone interested in Niacin should read the books written by Dr. Abram Hoffer.

He is a strong proponent of Orthomolecular medicine (using mega doses of nutrients that act like a drug). He claims to have cured Alzheimer's patients and other old age maladies by heavily dosing Niacin, and other nutrients to the point they act like drugs.

I read the book "Smart Nutrients". I would think there is a lot of commonality in his other books.
