Niacin FLUSH - I just took 500mg and 5 mintues later by head is on fire!

I meant to only take half the dose, but forgot and popped the whole 500mg in on shot. My head is pulsating. I feel like my head down to my arms are on fire...starting to spread down my back. Very strange feeling...not pleasant.

No kidding, won't do this again! - Now I'm shaking like I'm freezing. I am outside where it's cold, but I'm hot/cold at the same time! Fuck me LOL

The first time you take Niacin, it breaks loose your mast cells causing the flush.

After that, there are less and less mast cells to break loose, so the flush lessens. The good thing about the flush is you can feel your blood reaching EVERYWHERE.

He is a strong proponent of Orthomolecular medicine (using mega doses of nutrients that act like a drug). He claims to have cured Alzheimer's patients and other old age maladies by heavily dosing Niacin, and other nutrients to the point they act like drugs.

I read the book "Smart Nutrients". I would think there is a lot of commonality in his other books.

Well I survived, it was NOT FUN! It took at least a couple hours for the burning and then pins and needles to subside so I could even think about going to sleep. Watching a couple episodes of Seinfeld got me through it.

I'm still alive and kicking! Like someone said, "bet you won't make that mistake again" Don't be too sure LOL

It's harmless and good for your blood flow. Also releases pent up energy that causes inflammation if you don't burn it off. You're supposed to take melatonin first to prevent the flush.
