A cyclical solar micronova will wipe out most of humanity. The people on the sun facing side will all die, there is no saving them. The resulting displacement of atmosphere will cause cooler air on the dark side to rush to the side of earth that was sun facing, causing a catastrophic wind storm, and coating an ice age within hours. At this point the micronova will have shifted the polarity of the earth, forcing the earth to stop rotating temporality, for hours, perhaps days. Regardless, the sudden halt in rotation will cause the oceans to rush inland due to inertia. Tidal waves hundreds, perhaps even higher, will bury everything on land under a coat of ocean silt, and debris from what is left over from the cities, towns, and forests that are destroyed. Days, perhaps weeks later, the 6th mass extinction is complete, and the survivors attempt to rebuild civilization again.

No one will escape this. No one ever has. There have always been survivors of this cataclysm. They survived it in caves, and drew pictures of what they saw, the Sun, in all it's righteous fury.

Agreed that what ever it is, its engineered. He didnt feel he had to explain what that was which says alot. He wasnt panicking and screaming into the camera 'wake up, such and such event is on the horizon! Warn your families!'. No, there was none of that. Given he had a ride in a spaceship, I can assume he is well connected enough to be in the know as to where the best place to hide out is as this all unfolds!
