I know, right? I've seen a number of videos with teachers and noticed how sloppy they all dress. Some of them have tattoos and piercings too. I went to school in the 70s and 80s and the female teachers all wore dresses, pant suits or nice slacks and blouses. The male teachers wore suits or nice slacks. Oh, how we have "progressed".

When that became less common more recently, I read a teacher saying he intentionally dressed up when in class because he believed that reflected a level of respect and seriousness on his part that he thought his students should be aware of.

It's not her job to "have fun" for herself, while the young people she's in charge of look on in horror.

I'm convinced she's high. But let's say I'm wrong, and she's just "having fun". This behavior is harmful. She needs to get it together and act like an adult.

Her students know that she's a loon. She's not respected, she's probably sleeping with some of them.

We don't need to keep hiring people over the age of 18 but under 25 to teach high school who only relate to being a teenager, who dress like a teenager, who act like a teenager, and who seek out sex with the teenagers.

As for the "teaching method", what post pubescent person (some call them kids, or you could call them young adults) - how many of them are going to try to learn from such an unstable, ridiculous, so called "adult"?

It refers to a picture of the unit circle and triangle inscribed in it. The sides are of that triangle. A point on the circle would be (cos x, sin x) for the angle x.

There are less embarrassing ways to teach this. I didn't learn an acronym, just the definitions. It seems harder to reconstruct the funny spelling of sohcahtoa than just to know the definitions.

THIS. I went to grade school the same time and they always looked "adult", and professional. You'd look at them and realize that they didn't dress like you, they didn't act like you, they were in a totally different life phase than you.

Now, this line has been so blurred. The people in their young 20's taking these teaching jobs are nothing but fellow teenagers. They're emotionally immature (that's part of why we have all the female teacher/student sex stuff). There is no more boundary. The 24 year old "teacher" at the high school is nothing but another high schooler.

This thread started off bad and is only getting worse.

God what a fool! OK, one of the major issues with teachers these days is they tend to be extreme attention whores. They never shut up and they want all the attention upon them. It doesn't help that the kids today are apathetic. So these attention whores are then encouraged by their administrations to go to great lengths to get and keep the kids' attention. And...you end up with this kind of thing.

This is why the US public schools are 25th in the world in Math. She is in obscene pants with sandals and what they will remember is that she was a crazy lady.
They arent paying attention, they are in shock.

I have a physics degree which includes a minor in math...I never needed a dancing white lady dressed up as an Indian to learn it.

Not every young person is going to be receptive to or successful in math, in fact, most won't. But I'll tell you this - the ones that are going to make it are not going to have to remember a dancing Indian shouting Socatoah or whatever. The ones that will pick up math will study.

Last time I checked, all the stupid kids in high school were still being passed without having to know trigonometry.

While Native American and Amerindian POC did not, White people had to do it for them.
