Walmart recall: 4 dead from aroma therapy product from India (biological weapon?)

Most recalled products never get returned. They issue a warning and to throw it away. No way to count or test. The government just waits for deaths. And informs other agencies.

And how many of these vials will be in stocking stuffers for Xmas.

I agree on the feeling around salt lamps. I get that too.

So how about incense?

Who knows what is really in personal body care products. Makes you just want to wash with water. Or make our own cleaning products. I do have salt lamps and haven’t been sick. I do like the glow. Oh well.

I know. It’s just overwhelming all the stuff we use that we shouldn’t. Or eat things we think are healthy and aren’t. People who are deliberately selling contaminated things will have karma come back at them. It never fails.

Who knows what’s in that also. Could be heavy metals.

Actually being too clean is bad for us. Over sanitizing is harmful.

If I saw an air freshener with aroma of the Ganges, I would not buy. Buyers fault on this one.

Always figured if we ever ran out of salt that they could be used like that.

All who are reading about this will now be paranoid about what we are using. Especially aerosols. Not a bad thing to be a little paranoid.

Just be aware of things coming out of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan.

WHY HASN'T WALMART RECALLED ALL OF THE COVID19 VAXXES ?

After some research...

It's not some mysterious disease.

The problem is caused by a gram negative bacteria called Burholderia pseudomallei. Gram negative bacteria can be deadly, and this is a prime example.

The room spray was either not preserved properly, the preservative failed, or the product was contaminated (bad manufacturing practices/lack of sanitation).

It's not the essential oils that are at fault. It's not the water's fault....but... anything containing water can potentially grow nasties.

For example, mix only vegetable oil and water in a jar and sit it on your counter.

In a matter of days, with out a proper preservative the oil and water mix will grow all matter of gram negative and positive bacteria, becoming putrid.

I've made my own soaps and lotions. I've had this happen before by accident and with purchased beauty products that were not preserved properly or where the preservative failed.

This can easily happen to any product that contains water.

The aromatherapists will say, "Oh the essential oils should have preserved it".

No, the essential oil can become overwhelmed by the bacterial growth.

There are no requirements and very little regulation on room sprays, since it is not a food, drug, or cosmetic.

Perhaps the end result of this fiasco is to gain more regulations in this area.

But accidents are going to happen regardless. Contamination is going to happen. And preservatives are going to fail.

I don't think it was on purpose. It probably sit in a boat off the Kalifornia coast for months in the heat and the preservative in the product failed... nasties grew.

It happens.

It's not mysterious.

It's chemistry and science.... real science, not pseudo.

Naturally it came from India. They cannot make anything without contamination.

Go on FDA website and see how many warning letters and import bans Indian pharmaceutical (and I use that term loosely) companies have.

Same thing with China companies.

Digging, I found more information Feb 21 until present. So they've had some time to track this down. The recall just went into effect yesterday:
"The aromatherapy room spray was sold at about 55 Walmart stores nationwide and online at walmart.com from February 2021 through October 2021 for about $4. “Better Homes and Gardens Aromatherapy,” is printed on the label on the front of the 5-ounce glass bottle. The aromatherapy was sold with a pump spray nozzle in the following scents and product numbers:
