I don't like Alec Baldwin because of his politics but he didn't do anything wrong. It was the assistant director who gave him a gun with a real bullet inside.

It looks like a terrible accident and I don't wish anyone to accidentally hurt another human being and have to live with taking a innocent life.

You people are retarded.

As much as I hate Baldwin he isn't guilty of shit.

This was a movie production. There can be no expectation of an actor having any firearms knowledge. That's what professionals are for. That's somebody else's job. He was handed a gun. He pointed it where he was told and he pulled the trigger like he was told.

If it would have been a grenade and it exploded would you blame the actor? No. It's whoever is in charge of the grenade.

We don't know they were shooting a scene when the accident occurred ... just saying. Wait and see.

What we do know is that Baldwin bad mouthed Trump and now his future is secure in that he will lose everything he has to the families of the victims.

Even if he is able to slime his way out of CELL BLOCK D where Rufus and the homies are eagerly awaiting his arrival, he’ll lose everything he’s got.

It’s the Trump Curse and it’s in full effect.

AND, there isn’t a goddamn thing you can do about it, loser!

There is no such thing as an “accident” with guns - THERE IS ONLY NEGLIGENCE.

Baldwin is guilty of NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP HIM WORM HIS WAY OUT OF THAT GUILT.

The DA may not prosecute him and even if they do a jury might not convict him since Santa Fe is as ultra extremist left as Berkeley is, but he’ll still lose everything he’s got in the Civil Complaint the woman’s family will file against his dumb ass.

He's the director and he hired incompetent's to handle the guns on set.

They already had previous firearms discharges days earlier which would have been a wake up call to get that crap sorted out. He didn't do that and someone got killed because of it.

Time to clean up the messy reporting on Alec Baldwin’s negligent shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza. We still do not know what firearm was used, but the film was being shot on a movie set used principally for 19th Century westerns–Blazing Saddles and Jimmy Stewarts’ The Man From Laramie. So it is highly likely that Baldwin was shooting a revolver and not a semi-automatic pistol (e.g., Glock, Sig Sauer, Berretta).

Semi-automatic pistols are a 20th Century invention and became a staple of military equipment after World War II. There are two types of revolvers–Single Action and Double Action. Single Action means that when you pull the trigger the hammer is released and the gun fires. This was in widespread use in the West during the cowboy era. The cylinder that holds the ammunition is not easily removed and you must open a loading gate to insert only one round at a time into the revolver. Double Action is what most people associate with a revolver. That means when you pull the trigger it cocks the hammer and then, as you continue to apply pressure to the trigger, releases the hammer and fires the pistol.

There also is no such thing as an “accidental” discharge. If a firearm is fired unintentionally it is negligence. Gun accidents are caused by only two things–ignorance and/or carelessness. If you are holding a pistol, it will not fire unless you put your finger on the trigger.

A talented cinematographer is dead because at least two people did not follow the fundamental rules of gun safety–Alec Baldwin and the Assistant Director who handed him the firearm with live ammunition loaded. Then there are questions to be answered by the armorer (the guy or gal in charge of insuring the firearms and ammunition are properly stored when not in use and properly loaded with blank ammunition) and the person in charge of props.

The worst thing you can do when handling a gun of any kind is to assume it is unloaded and safe. It is that kind of negligence that gets innocent people killed. That’s what happened in New Mexico to this poor woman.

It is known the camera crew walked off because it wasn’t isolated event. Their lack safety protocols all around on set plus pay and lodging were issues.

Baldwin is the OWNER, Producer & Actor! He should know to check the gun & exactly what to look for. He is the Primary responsible for all that transpires on the set.

Whatever he did to the professional Union Crew that exited hours before, is also his responsibility! Hot head probably fired them for looking at him wrong!

That's not completely true. His arrogance and disdain for guns while actually using them to make a living makes him responsible. Anybody with any damn sense knows not to point a weapon at anyone unless you intend to kill them, and furthermore, just because he's a sissy gun hating liberal doesn't absolve his responsibility for checking that gun himself.
I think the AD grabbed it while the new non Union "armorer" was trying to get some pussy or checking out the food cart. The AD had NO biz grabbing a prop, especially a gun, without it being literally checked and handed over by the person in charge.
It was a clusterfuck that happened because SEVERAL people absolutely FAILED to do the bare stinking minimum

The questions to ask.

Did Alec know that the firearm has actual bullets in it?

What was a prop doing with a live bullet?

I don't like Alec Baldwin, he is a woke piece of shite. With that said, I asked the above questions.

It can only be manslaughter if he knew the firearm had a live bullet. I would never convict someone if they thought it was a prop and it should have been a prop.

In New Mexico, if he was charged with involuntary manslaughter, he would receive at maximum 18 months under the circumstances! That automatically gets reduced by 50%. Thats 9 months! Add the fact he is a celebrity, with “overcrowding” in corrections, he serves 30-60 days in county jail!

With that said, let’s look at some possibilities. Prop guns, cannot, under law, fire an actual cartridge, the bore is to small, plus they usually have changes to the magazine. They were filming in the desert in a rocky area. The production Armorers (there are always two, unless they broke the law) are required to clear, check, inspect, and load blanks prior to giving it to the actor! However, with that said, Alec should have double checked the weapon regardless! Let’s say the armorers did all the checks, inspections, loaded the pistol with blanks and while on the way to give him said weapon, they dropped it in the rock! This could have easily lodged a large rock or multiple rocks into the barrel! They think it’s no big deal, and BOOM! Catastrophe!
