Talking about rumors. I have a friend who has been in the TV/movie industry for decades.

The rumors going around those circles are that Alec Baldwin and others had been out behind the set target shooting with that very same weapon in previous days - using real ammunition. That info was from someone who had been on the set as late as the morning of the incident.

Somehow there was still a legit bullet in the weapon when this incident happened.

That was my thought. If that gun is capable of firing real bullets and they are in the middle of nowhere then some were using it for practice shooting off set. The gun was not checked to make sure it was not loaded with real bullets. Even a 10 year old in the south is taught that by his daddy. These people should not have been near a gun ever.
