What I find puzzling is how small the variance is in the weekly excess death numbers (excepting the first ten weeks of 2022 when the Omicron wave hit, and the 5 year average figure was distorted by early 2021’s Alpha wave).

This lack of variance would be even more apparent if monthly excess death figures were analysed, I believe. The excess death figure has been about 15% for a year. Very few people are getting jabbed but the level of excess deaths remains pretty constant.

However the number of infections (determined by the ONS infection survey) has had big peaks and troughs throughout this year - this doesn’t seem to have had any immediate, apparent effect on the number of overall/excess deaths in the same/following time span.

One would expect that if a cumulative burden of morbidity/mortality was occurring because of the jabs then the number of excess deaths would be increasing but this doesn’t seem to be happening.

Just to continue this discussion, here is my analysis of the excess for the week (ending 19 Aug 22).

- Overall we have a +21% excess (1897 deaths) compared to 2015-2019 pre-pandemic levels.
- The most surprising result this week was the 45-64 age-group, at +22% excess:- That's over 2.5 Standard Deviations based on the 2015-2019 data.

ps - the ONS spreadsheet (table 5a) says only 327 deaths involving covid. So whether it's 327 or 551, this excess is NOT covid.

i think it is both. the vax slowed down the damage of covid internally. that seems to b the only thing the vax does- slows /delays symptoms. hence, it would slow covid deaths slightly. since the % of excess deaths is staying the same, whatever covid deaths the vax delays is being made up by vax deaths.

the # is concerning. we've seen the worker deaths and the effects on city services. estimated 10-15%. seems u 2 showed excess deaths at 11% a ways back and getting higher , closer to 15% week after week now. now we get a report of 18% excess deaths. the worker losses are between 15-20%. some jobs can b replaced easily, but others require more schooling and on the job experience so not so easy to replace. we edge closer to the critical 25% loss where society collapses.
