Alarming antibody evasion properties of rising SARS-CoV-2 BQ and XBB subvariants

The BQ and XBB subvariants of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron are now rapidly expanding, possibly due to altered antibody evasion properties deriving from their additional spike mutations. Here, we report that neutralization of BQ.1, BQ.1.1, XBB, and XBB.1 by sera from vaccinees and infected persons was markedly impaired, including sera from individuals boosted with a WA1/BA.5 bivalent mRNA vaccine. Titers against BQ and XBB subvariants were lower by 13-81-fold and 66-155-fold, respectively, far beyond what had been observed to date. Monoclonal antibodies capable of neutralizing the original Omicron variant were largely inactive against these new subvariants, and the responsible individual spike mutations were identified. These subvariants were found to have similar ACE2-binding affinities as their predecessors. Together, our findings indicate that BQ and XBB subvariants present serious threats to current COVID-19 vaccines, render inactive all authorized antibodies, and may have gained dominance in the population because of their advantage in evading antibodies.

the un-official death toll to CHINA was spec'd at bout 30 million based on society reports- cell phone usage,electric use, etc. i believe that was put out early in the 1st year. may have been for the whole 1st year.

reports from the rest of the world, un-officially puts death tolls to double the official #'s.

have not seen any reports with society data since the info on CHINA way back. based on travel, electric or fuel usage, cell usage, food imports, etc. do wish someone would get that data for us as we near the 3rd yr anniversary date.

we did manage better than expected. in the early MONTHS, death rate held at 45%. that held even when we knew CHINA was downplaying the case #'s to the world. they played with all the #'s they were giving us, but the death % held for a long time at 45. all things considered, it was odd that that # stayed so consistant.

wasn't til covid spread beyond ITALY and crossed the ocean that the % dropped. my theory is that covid mutated down quickly even in the 1st 6 months.

Its technically still fall until the 21st!

What about Fomepizole as a detox ?

BNF bnf.org says Fomepizole is used for Ethylene Glycol poisoning
(Chapter 16, 'emergency treatment of poisoning')
Also oral ethanol can be used (yummy!)

Polyethylene Glycol - not sure. But there ain't much of it in a jab.


PEG I think has a long-ish half-life of elimination depending on the size of the molecule... (5 days?)
