It just need 1 to 3 virus particles to get you infected.

[link to www.science.org (secure)]

A reanalysis of SARS-CoV-2 deep sequencing data from donor-recipient pairs indicates that transmission bottlenecks are very narrow (one to three virions).

 Quoting: CoronaCoaster2

For those that may need a little refresher on what a 'viron' is.

Virons, stability in the environment as surface contaminants...

******
8. How stable and infectious is the virion on surfaces?
To understand how SARS-CoV-2 can be transmitted, it is vitally important to characterize the stability of infectious virions on different types of surfaces like cardboard, plastics, and various metals. This is a very active area of current research.

However, there are significant caveats associated with viral stability measurements. The measured stability depends on the quantity measured, for example, one can measure either infectious virions or viral RNA copies. The number of infectious virions is typically much lower than inferred from measurements of the viral genome (Woelfel et al., 2020). SARS-CoV-2 RNA has been detected on various surfaces several weeks after they were last touched (Moriarty et al., 2020), but infectiousness appears to degrade more quickly than RNA.

When researchers measured the stability of infectious virions on surfaces, the numbers depended greatly on the type of surface and the medium carrying the virus, with the stability on plastic being much greater than on copper or steel, for example. Viral stability is also known to depend strongly on temperature and humidity (Chin et al., 2020). Therefore calculating the probability of human infection from exposure to contaminated surfaces is a complex task for which sufficient data is not yet available.

As such, caution and protective measures should be taken. To gain some intuition for the importance of surface transmission, we consider an undiagnosed infectious person who touches surfaces tens of times during their infectious period. Prior to lockdown, these public surfaces will subsequently be touched by hundreds of other people. From the basic reproduction number R0 ≈ 2–4 we can infer that not everyone touching those surfaces will be infected. More detailed bounds on the risk of infection from touching surfaces urgently awaits study.

**********

And now for the killer little tidbit that hitb my ears last night.

BURST SIZE.

Now - when a person is infected with say Influenza, we have a stable burst size - what this means is that we know how many copies of the original infection are made inside each penetrated cell before 'burst' occours and they leave the host to go travel out themselves.

And as much as I hate to say it, but our very own Wordsworth seeded the idea back in 2020 for Mrs Doom to go off and get some investigations done. **

SARSCOV2 has RANDOM burst size. And that is absolutely flooring the researchers. Sometimes it makes 1500 /2000 like HIV. Sometimes it makes 600 - 800 like Influenza.

And others it makes between 30 and 40 THOUSAND ala SIV when infecting Macaque T cells.

And there is the answer in part as to why some people are falling down dead after a random sniffle that runs away from them. The virus has inbuilt ability to swap and change its burst size to suit the environment.

And that made mrs Doom swear something awful.

** Wordsworth kept saying 'but why' (and that is a great place to start in any investigation) and the 'why' was bugging the ever living shit out of the good lady wife.

UD can u expand on all that and break it down more for us? plz correct me if i am wrong as well. also can anyone else confirm this report??

what i see is 2 big points.

1> on surfaces the virus break down quickly. stays viable on plastic the longest. but we still do not know the time line on this. and there is a variable to it see point 2.

2> the virus randomly creates infectious cells, probly wrong term. it also is random on how many a person will make. it also seems to b random on the virus making infectious cells, again probly wrong word, once a person is infected.

from that we can take a few things.who and how anyone is infected or becomes sick is totally random. 1 person might b a carrier to infect others and have nothing but a cold. another might get sick and die in hours or days. and there is a lot of gray zone between the 2.

put another way. 1 person might make 1/1 million cells that infect another. another person might b 50/50. 1 might get sick as we have seen with hot symptons and the tiredness that comes with it. another might need a vent and b dead in a month. where up til now, we were under the impression there was a DNA genetic componet to it,it is now all random.

let me cringe at this and post more in a bit.

Re: FOR CORONACOASTER: COVID-19 News, Info, Discussion /// Tracking the Spread of the Virus and its Effects
ok,this info does nothing good for any of us. with it random on who and how the virus infects or survives on surfaces, we need to treat everyone and everything the same as before. assume it or they are infected. clean and or quarantine everything/everyone for a month. continue using gloves when dealing with the outside world or public places.

if that is all correct, i think more research might find a better answer, the vaxes will fail. ALWAYS. there is no way to make 1 medicine, which the vax sorta is since it is not a true vaccine, to defend against so many issues at once.u can't take 1 pill for 5 diseases. basically makes the virus unstoppable. TPTB can't take over the surface world when this virus can get them or their pets, etc.

think we need more research to solve more. after almost 2 years, u would think our great scientists would know more than they do. or are they just not telling us?

not saying it is wrong. i actually did say correct me if my thinking is wrong. i can however see a few flaws. 1 is we have seen reports of whole families getting sick and dying. sometimes 1 young person survives. but if it was truelly just random,we shouldn't see that. 2> we would see more young ppl dying in higher #'s than we do. if it was random, then the % deaths from young should mirror the elderly. so there must b a variable that increases the chance such as other illnesses. we have yet to solve why the virus kills 1 20yr old and just makes another slightly sick for a short time.

A) I wrote back when Mrs Doom was doing the research on how long the virus was capable of living on surfaces - and Wordsie is correct - I do quarantine all our paper mail. And clean EVRYTHING else down with hypochlorous acid before it gets into the inner sanctum. Us included (Halo fire and rescue shower is perfect. Works wonders).

7 days for plastic is now the accepted numbers. A whole freaking week as long as it (sarscov2) is exposed to air and changes in humidity. If it is inside a protected atmosphere with slight moisture available AND stable temps - Mrs Doom et al did find that they had 15 days as their max recommended sanitization time for plastic covered goods.

Here is another teams early efforts and findings. Look closely as the humidity / weather play a MASSIVE part.

B) Burst. I have sat through the slides and the best way I can put this is that the virus has been designed to evade defences AND create itself an environment where it can thrive, multiply to the point of spread, and then create a catastrophic event inside the host after a long dwell time.

Every aspect points directly to being designed this way.

The 'random' is NOT random at all. It is a calculated pathway; if event A happens, response B will take place. If event B happens, response C & D will take place. The design is purposefully creating what appears to be a random virus with no discernable pattern - Until you take the effected in as seperate cohorts; examples being C1, 14-19, White, Eurasian DNA. Rising testosterone. C2, 23-38, White, Eurasian, peak testosterone and peak cardiac health... So on and so forth. Break it down, take cells that have undergone SPECIFIC PATTERNS OF GROWTH AND / OR DAMAGE, and you see that this bastard fucker is a targeted mother fucker of a payload.

Break it down. Get the figures.

RACE
SEX
CELLULAR MATURITY
PEAK CELLULAR ACTIVITY
Testosterone.
DNA AND CELLULAR MARKERS THAT SIGNAL POOR HEALTH / metabolic outcomes.

Start cutting the deaths AND THE ADVERSE REACTIONS and you will see, stark and clear, just how this fucker was and is tailored to cut swathes through specific groups. We are just being bamboozled by the media to look the other way.

Then the 'random' burst is NOT random at all.

Does anyone have a comment one this evenings national news headline, the cdc has released a new study, the vaccines are 5 times more effective than natural infection by covid. 5x better than natural immunity would be an incredible medical miracle? A cdc scientific study, that’s beyond amazing and I’ve never seen a vaccine do that before?

It can’t be truthful? Strange statistical result…how did they get the spike from a covid virus that they supposedly didn’t have the genome or virus…or did they? How does the original spike work so well against variants trying to escape the vaccine?

So many questions?

This is not directly related, but it is a supply-related issue and these have been discussed here.

I read the threads on the main board about supply chain issues and have seen some partially empty shelves here and there where I reside. I went to the Dollar General Store for some pet food this afternoon and I was shocked, and it makes me extremely nervous and uneasy. This could be our future day by day as us and our pets starve. I have never seen it like this.

I went for a few small bags of cat food and some litter. There was not a single bag of cat food of any size or any brand on the shelves. Not a single can of food was available. The only cat litter was their house brand in a 7-lb bag. There were maybe five bags of that. I bought two.

I wanted a small bag of dog food. All brands were sold out, however, I found one bag of Beneful on the top shelf. There were a few large bags in 30 lbs in their house brand.

Also, the cookies, can goods, everything that were not in the cooler, looked like they had been sucked up. Their medications were almost sold out.

I asked the manager about the supply, and she shared that she had not gotten a truck in weeks. She did not know when she would receive another one.

Is that the plan, to starve us and our pets as the commerce wheel continues to spin, while they threaten us with our jobs and livelihoods, our humanity? In my eyes, this is hell on earth.

Part of that answer is simple, the "COVID has never been isolated" narrative is propaganda.

Somebody filed a lawsuit against Starbucks demanding they prove COVID exists, and when asked under oath if they ever isolated COVID Starbucks said "No, we haven't. We're a fucking coffee company!".

So... the GLP headline is "Major corporation admits COVID has never been isolated".

But... it was never isolated by them, that doesn't mean it has never been isolated.

My theory is that the lipid bilayer (oil) is sucked into the cellulose / paper /pulp / cardboard and its integrity is broken.
Either that or the lipid layer is trapped in the structure of the cardboard etc.

Bu I also like the thermal condctivity theory for non-porous.. Silver is a brilliant conductor and that kills most pathogens quickly, too.

Did you read the study or just the headline. The study has more word salad garbage.

What the study did was compare hospitalizations of fully vaccinated people who had covid like symptoms vs previously infected unvaccinated people who had covid like symptoms and found that 5x of the unvaccinated tested positive for Covid19.

It would be like comparing people who went to hospital vaccinated for the flu but had broken leg symptoms vs people who previously broke their leg and went to hospital for broken leg symptoms and finding that 5x of the previously broken leg people actually had broken legs. Then you come to the conclusion that the flu vaccine reduces the chances of a broken leg. But it doesn't. Maybe it means the flu vaccine causes broken leg symptoms. Who knows. It looks good but means shit.

So basically a bunch of fully vaccinated people are going to hospital for covid like symptoms but don't actually test positive for covid. Hm.... that's interesting.

So they are really comparing 2 different things and coming to a conclusion that may imply some sort of connectivity but in reality means nothing.

The only way to actually find out what they are inferring would be to test all ( or a large sampling ) of vaccinated vs previously infected. Which has been done and previously infected have 17-23x the protection a vaccinated person does.

Forget the CDC study, I agree with the above poster and will detail why later.
THIS is the best study so far..It's huge (800k participants) and does not bias the results using only pre-hospitalised Px

Comparing SARS-CoV-2 natural immunity to vaccine-induced immunity: reinfections versus breakthrough infections

Results
SARS-CoV-2-naïve vaccinees had a 13.06-fold (95% CI, 8.08 to 21.11) increased risk for breakthrough infection with the Delta variant compared to those previously infected

After adjusting for comorbidities, we found a 27.02-fold risk (95% CI, 12.7 to 57.5) for symptomatic breakthrough infection as opposed to symptomatic reinfection,

Nine cases of COVID-19-related hospitalizations were recorded, 8 of which were in the vaccinated group and 1 in the previously infected group (Table S1). No COVID-19-related deaths were recorded in our cohorts.

ps CDC: (bear in mind they make a lot of money from vaccine patents, a VI they should declare with every study they sponsor, and NEVER do..)

During January 1–September 2, 2021, a total of 201,269 hospitalizations for COVID-19–like illness were identified; 139,655 (69.4%) patients were hospitalized after COVID-19 vaccines were generally available.

(a terrible bias!)
e.g.: BIAS ALERT! The pool of "causes of hospitalisation" in vaxxed might be larger, if their immune systems are susceptible to RSV or bacterial pneumonia!

e.g.: BIAS ALERT! COVID-like illness - let's say pneumonia...
Who gets non-covid pneumonia? Older people.
Who are double-vaxxed? Older people.
(a big bias towards including non-covid double-vaccinated people!)
(it would dilute the numbers of them who had covid with things like pneumonia, and other such ailments)

It's a terrible bias because you have 7000 people already hospitalised with a covid-19-like illness, and you *then* test them, and find a higher % of positive COVID in the "unvaccinated & prev infected" group..

Thanks for the comments on the cdc study, I found the same discrepancies and with the other study which said the opposite really brings into question the motives of the cdc? This cdc questionable study is another confusion…along with the fda formally/legal document approval “legally distinguished” vaccine which does not exist/is not available anywhere? Why so much censorship, esp. for scientifically accredited institutions/accurate studies which could be critically time sensitive in saving lives or understanding the virus or vaccine?

It’s scary there is so much information which is illogical, exaggerated, and seemingly misrepresentation of science…esp. mandates which are not at all based on the science!

Meat – Some great fresh meat options for cats include the following:

Fresh, human-grade raw meat such as pieces of raw lamb or raw chicken with no preservatives added.
Lean and plainly cooked portions of beef, chicken, turkey, lamb and pork.
Lean, un-spiced deli meats in small quantities.
But be mindful of the following:

Avoid processed meats and cooked manufactured meats, including bacon and sausages, as they can contain sulphite preservatives which can be detrimental to your cat’s health.
Avoid the fatty parts of the meat, the skin, and cooked bones.
Avoid leftovers or recipes containing any items from the dangerous foods list (e.g. onions or garlic), any strange vegetables, heavy seasoning or wine.
While small amounts of liver are fine, too much can lead to vitamin A toxicity.
Meat bones (raw only) – Bones can be “a bone of contention” when it comes to cat food alternatives. In the wild, cats would eat a whole animal carcass – meat, organs and bones. A diet of only the meat of an animal is highly deficient in minerals such as calcium and will not allow the bones to grow properly. Also, raw meaty bones can provide several important health benefits such as keeping teeth and gums healthy. On the negative side, too many raw bones may lead to constipation. Generally, 1 to 2 raw bones may be offered per week with a few days in between each serving. Always supervise cats when they eat raw bones.

Suitable raw meaty bones include raw chicken (necks, wings, or drumsticks) and raw lamb shanks. The bone must be large enough so that the cat cannot fit the whole bone into their mouth or swallow the bone whole.

Avoid large marrow bones (these have very thick outer rims), large knuckle bones or bones sawn lengthwise as cats may crack their teeth on these.

Never give your cat cooked bones as these can be choking hazards. They can splinter, causing stomach lacerations and obstructions within the digestive system.

Re: FOR CORONACOASTER: COVID-19 News, Info, Discussion /// Tracking the Spread of the Virus and its Effects

Gee, I missed that post by LAListener..
I am sorry that sounds like an awful experience.

I am sure if it comes to it, we can all chip in some cans of tuna and some spare flour. You have a family here and although I am a long way away, I would gladly contribute if it got serious for you.

I used to look after cat that loved kidneys. Offal is a possibility. Seriously loved them. Even, once, with cream! (don't tell the owner!)
