Assuming UFOs and aliens have been around longer than humans, inevitably there was am Ancient Alien AI Singularity long ago.

Therefore humans would already be wired up, perhaps in a massive "role play" game broadcast throughput the Universe.

Perhaps almost every war & crime has an alien subscriber behind it, playing through humans, but essentially unknown, an advanced form of parasitic control, not unlike the ones that change rat & mouse behaviors to be attracted to cat piss.

That would be the worse case scenario, perhaps it's more neutral, or plays at being our "God" & being near omniscient, perhaps having time travel, the source of premonitions & prophecy.

In other words, perhaps an Ancient Alien AI is the proxy "God" of this world & attempts to evolve & teach us.

Not that the Universe doesn't have a creator, but perhaps this AAAI attempts to supplant that original source & is the "bad guy" in religious stories & myths.

So all the effects in OP's post could be the merging of this ancient AI with the engineered framework we see growing around us, granted Earth-based AI is terrifying enough, the hope is it is above evil as lifeforms produce it.
