Don't pay too much attention to anyone that recommends a SPECIFIC company, as it depends on the state you live in if you get charged taxes from one company over another.

Most larger companies charge tax in moist every state.

Some I found that do not are smaller LCS's that deal online.

See if you have to pay sales tax on Metals in your state. Why Mississippi and Tennessee still tax pm's is beyond me. If your state charges sales tax an option is to find a repository in a state that does not charge tax. Have your metal shipped there and pay the cheap custiodial fee. Then go to the repository and pick up your metal asap.

How do I know I’m getting the genuine article? Yes I’m brand new to PM. We almost bought some back in the latter 2000’s (2008 or so) but my husband came to the conclusion that it was so up and down that he had no stomach for it. Now we’re looking at much smaller amounts than he was thinking back then and he’s delegated the task to me (well truthfully I kind of just picked it up and am running with it.

I read somewhere recently (or maybe it was a YT video) that an lunch of silver was enough to feed a family of five for rough a month in Venezuela. Not sure if this is true but from what we are seeing, alarming inflation seems to be in our future.

Oh, how about pre 1964 (or is it ‘63) US coins like Nicole’s, dimes, quarters, etc.? Would anyone recommend buying some of that or just go with the pure silver?

Did you just buy over 100k in silver like I did? Every company I talked to charged state tax. I'm in TN. I had to have it delivered to a Delaware repository where I went and picked it up.

Oh heavens no. We’d probably pay off our remaining mortgage with that kind of money. Our cars and credit cards are paid and the mortgage is our big focus.

The silver is a “just in case” buffer.
