Oil is mostly layers of ancient sea algae.(not dinosaurs) And it is found in very specific geological strata(layers)due to ancient ocean seabeds.

I've heard the "Abiotic Oil" theory. and oil migrates upward from the center of thearth through the pores and cracks in the rock.

So whether it takes 10 million years of heat and pressure to create from stored carbon in dead algae or it take 10 million years to migrate upward( I.E."earth has chewy nuggat oil center" theory) and accumulate in deposits.

It still takes 10 million years to "refill" the deposits.That's the same outcome for us.

We are removing it and using it faster then it can replenish.
