Commercially, what's the largest bag of beef jerky I can buy?

used to get pizza box sized jerky years ago from a meat processor..

check your local butcher or meat processors.

1-Buy a dehydrator

2-Buy an 'Eye of Round" Beef roast

3-Slice 1/8" thick strips against the grain

4-Marinate in desired blend for 12-24 hrs (refrigerated)

5-Dehydrate it.

6-Eat it

It does go bad after 6 months or so!

Just came in from loading the smoker with 8 pounds of thin sliced marinaded top round strips. Should be done in about 3 1/2 hours.

Make your own. I get a whole wagyu beef and jerky that puppy in momma's secret recipe passed down from 10 generations. I use hennessey and black pepper corns.

If your oven goes low enough, you can easily make it in the oven. I've made hundreds of pounds of venison jerky over the years in the oven. You need toothpicks for the small pieces so they don't fall between the rods in the racks. You need aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven under the coils so you don't totally trash your oven. When you take the pieces out of the marinade, put them on paper towels for a bit so you don't have so much dripping or your house will smell like jerky for days. Not all ovens go low enough now, though. Also, the dehydrator (I've done that a lot, too) has the benefit of being able to put it outside so that it doesn't stink up your house.

I don't think you know how easy it is to make jerky! You would never buy it again if you knew.

the seller from south dakota is the one that i know had
good jerky.

some of the dealers sell 10 lbs for less than 10.00 per lb.

makes a good gift, if you know someone who is crazy for that
stuff.
