Just Got Home From Brookshires Grocery Store In East Texas
We just finished our monthly run to the grocery store and surprisingly, they were pretty well stocked. Sure they were low on a few things but for the most part, they were stocked well.

I didn't look at the meat prices but did walk by and they had good stocks of all of the fresh meats. We have 2 freezers full of beef, pork and chicken. I did need breakfast sausage and bacon. Got 4 one pound chubs of sausage for $3.59 each and 6 pounds of Wright hickory smoked bacon for $4.66 a pound.

They had plenty of eggs, sliced cheese and grated cheese. Plenty of bologna, ham and other lunch meats. Both pre-packaged and fresh sliced. Plenty of milk, butters and biscuits as well as all kinds of potato chips and dips.

Plenty of tp and other paper products.

Some item prices were up slightly to moderately but overall, we got a buggy filled to the brim, some wines and 2 12 packs of Sugar Dr. Peppers for $285 and some change.

Not bad overall. I guess I don't understand what all of this shortage hype is about.

Brookshires is a good 30% to 40% higher than the Walmart across the street.

Why waste money, it's not like the poor people are gonna get you if you go in there.

I used to work for Brookshire Bros. back when my kids were very young. Pay sucked but it was close enough to walk to when my car wouldn't start.
