Did Jesus lie to the scribe?

Luke 10:25-28
When asked by the lawyer how to attain eternal life, Jesus let him answer his own question which was written in the Law.
Jesus then confirmed his answer by saying "do this and you will live."
Nothing was said about the need to accept his sacrificial death... nothing was said about a cross.... nothing was said that you must believe in Himself.
Was he confused? or did he lie?

This is for discussion purposes only.... I'm not seeking arguments from anyone here that will bring in other scripture, allegories, being accused of taking Jesus' statement out of context. I'm just hoping someone might go "hmmmmmmmmmm"
Quoting: Satya Revelations No some select people distorted his teaching and had you turn him into an idol. He worshipped the Father creator and they got people worshipping him instead. Christ would not be a Christian.
