Essentially, when the public gets a good look at what some training and regimentation policies/practices are, actually, then they will understand that 'fighting' some other person pales in comparison, to being hooked in arms with your buddies while the surf is ripping the skin from you and you're starved and half drowned and made to run km before sitting there, as the sun goes down. The thought just popped into my head also that as outstanding top flight Naval persons, these guys would think as if they themselves are a carrier or an f-16, they have value they are wetwire hardware, that is programmed to stand off, because in this era, standoff and 'reach' and depth of magazine, are the true win. Also, most of us who study such things know that diplomacy is an art of war, some would say the gutter others would say the huighest art. I would have 'seek cover' as their first package to run mentally, simply because as a commander I know, that bravery is in their nature and getting killed is what bravery does to troops, thus they have to be reined in.
