years ago, I got a chance to talk to the then-president of the national association of medical hypnotherapists, who had a practice in Manhattan
he told me that by using hypnosis, doctors can reduce medication in patients with chronic pain by 25 to 30 percent
Quoting: 91GMC I believe you. The mind is very powerful. I mean, we have all heard of psychosomatic illness...but we usually think of that as being in nutty people or attention seekers. Looks like Sarno is saying MOST people with back pain have fallen for the idea that it is caused by slipped discs, etc -- which everybody has -- and it's all just bunk the medical establishment made up to get our money from unnecessary surgeries. I will say that the few people I know who have had back surgeries never had their pain go away due to these procedures...so there might be something to this. I hope and PRAY that there is some way for people with chronic pain to find relief. I have many loved ones with crippling pain from accidents. I will have to do some research on the late Dr. John Sarno and his approach to healing chronic back pain. Thanks OP for this thread.
