How do you get eggs from roosters??

Joking aside, they are likely litter mates; brothers. Hatched in the same clutch.

Chickens have tons of personality and character and are extremely loyal to their friends.

Free range birds are food motivated. They've discovered the kibble you feed the cats. They will continue to hang at your place until you remove the food source.

I have roosters (started with one but will not kill any animal simply due to its sex).. so now have many and try desperately to stop the hens breeding (not always with success,lol). They are not gay but they do befriend each other and hang out the same as hens .. when there is no women around.
Introduce hens and it can be an issue at times, lol.
I love roosters their personalities are brilliant.

As for the roosters, keep them around. They eats bugs, baby snakes, and some will even kill rodents. Who cares if they are gay, they are chickens. Anyway, sounds like they may have imprinted on you and are now family pets.

I did not realize she was a polydactyl till I had already found her a forever home. I would have kept her is I had known that before she had new parents.

A few weeks ago I saw a kitten running in and out of traffic, I knew she was going to get ran over so I blocked 2 lanes of traffic by parking my Vette across the road and got out to catch her. A couple other people also finished blocking the road till I got the Indian blanket I keep in my hatch and caught her in it. Its owner pulled up on the other side of the road and took her. The cat was on the way to the vet and got spooked in the car and jumped out the window. They had to go a mile before they could make a u turn. The little girl that owned it was bawling because she thought the cat had gotten ran over.

I had traffic backed up for half a mile and thought people would be mad but a few of them saw what was going on got out of their cars and clapped.

Just because you have built them a coop, doesn't mean they will stay in it. Unless you feed them in it, about an hour before dark, and shut them inside once it gets mostly dark.

All you need to do is consistently feed them under a tree with low-lying branches, so they can fly up into the tree at night. They don't really need a building to live in, that's a humanizing thing. Some of mine earned their freedom earlier this Spring, and probably won't ever go back inside.

Preferably choose a tree to feed them under that's adjacent to the neighbor's property.

Free roaming chickens will lay eggs where they want to. Until you've figured out where they're laying their eggs, it will be an Easter egg hunt. And not to worry if the eggs have been laid outside for a couple of days, fresh eggs stay fresh longer than store-bought eggs. A small bucket or refrigerator bin, or empty cat litter box filled with water will be just fine.

I put out old bread, even if it's moldy. Any grain that has gone moldy will disappear too. Old and stale popcorn will eventually go away, food scraps of a compost nature they will eat, That's why you don't want to feed them near your house, because a raccoon will also come and feast as well.

Mostly provide them water, and shrubs or trees with low-lying branches. They also like brambles and brush piles to hide under as needed. They'll figure out what to do.

If you're raising horses, chickens will try to steal their food as they're eating. They respond to a stern voice, to clear off.

They are likely bets roosters and lost the fight to be dominant. Go over $10 to the neighbours for them and just tell them they are in your yard, so you would like to take care of them. They will take the money and then build a coop for them and get some chickens.

I worry me sometimes. The container they were in was smallest one. It was a one cat condo, the other are multi cat condos.

Chickens will most certainly go into the coop every night. Then you shut the door until daylight. I've raised chickens for 40 years.

If they don't feel secure in the coop for some reason, they may go somewhere else. I've had to climb trees and crawl under sheds to get them. If you are lazy, they WILL GET EATEN. I promise you.

If a raccoon or possum can get to them, they will kill them. I cannot stress this enough. Anyone disagreeing with this is an idiot.

It's not easy to re-home roosters. The supply far outweighs the demand. But you might get lucky. Your neighbors prolly just didn't want to be bother with it. You can always take them to auction too and get a few bucks for them. But, I suggest you get some hens and build a coop!

Being that things are so uncertain, it is wise to have a source of food. You can give away, barter, or sell the extra eggs. Plus, you already have roosters that are used to you and aren't mean. Mean roosters can make things difficult. Lol

You should address the situation one way or another though. Those roosters will be just blood and feathers in your backyard come winter.

I have pet chickens and we have a resident possum. Sabrina has never bothered the chickens, but she is also my garbage disposal. The only things I have found she will not eat is onions and hot peppers.

Love the possum, there are some around here because we are in the country. I always have food for the strays and wild animals that stop by.

These same neighbors have dogs fenced in in their back yard. When one of the dogs gets out they come up here and hit the food dish and water bowl. It has a 3 gallon jug and the dogs will drink close quarter of a gallon. I do not think they give them food or water.

The roosters have actually moved into the bushes across the road. I had noticed them running from there recently and I just walked over there and looked and they have made themselves a little nest over there under the blackberry vines. They were sitting there beside one another.

I am thinking of asking the neighbors to sell them to me and either give them to someone with a farm that will keep them as pets or building a coop in our back yard and getting some hens. We have a huge back yard with nothing in it. There is a area that used to have an above ground pool that would be perfect.

The only thing is I would rather not have to talk to the owners. They are the type that if they think they can they will borrow everything you have and never give it back. The people that live next to them had to put a fence up and no trespassing signs up to keep them out.

This will be of no help to you, but I am commenting because of a similar experience. Friends and I were renting a house, and the neighbors were a family of druggies who had chickens. I knew about their drug habits because they let me in one time when their mail had been delivered to our address.

The young adult children and their parents and grandparents all lived there, and they had tons of people coming and going (might have been dealers but idk for sure). One of the adult children was mentally ill and super weird but nice, and she would always shovel our sidewalk.

It took me maybe three months to get used to the rooster wake up calls at an hour when I was still sleeping. I think there were two roosters and several hens, and unlike your situation, they never escaped. I say ‘I think’ because I never saw them on account of the super high fence. They gave us some home grown veggies once, so I always wondered what else they were growing. The chickens must have had secure living quarters, because I know chickens can fly short distances and even over fences if they want.

Small update, this morning when the Roosters came for their morning meal they had a smaller female turkey with them. My wife said it hangs around the roosters some. I did not see it for the mid day or night feeding.

The roosters have fully moved into the brush and vines across the road.

I still have not spoke with the owners of the roosters but it is clear that they do not live there. Even the mail lady that sometimes stops to pet Donald Trump (stray cat, he is orange and friendly but can cop an attitude when he does not get his food on time) mentioned that it appears that the roosters have adopted us.
