Food shortage and supply chain disruption - CONFIRMED
If you live in western canada, STOCK UP ON EVERYTHING.

Northern BC, stores are emptying right now.
Got this directly from my brother.

By 5pm when most folks are getting off work he says there won't be anything left but condiments.

Store managers are already putting limits on.

Walmarts in much of western canada get their goods from the Port of Vancouver, also from a store manager.

You've been warned.

Panic buying all over BC first hand reports from friends and family today.

Stop hoarding says Kamloops mayor as grocery store shelves go bare
Lineups could be spotted at Costco and produce and meat sections have been cleaned out at various grocery stores.

Yes, reports are still coming in, but the highways north and east of vancouver are essentially swiss cheese.

They don't even know the extent of the damage yet.

They are saying 3 months or so. But really winter is here, good luck pouring concrete and building bridges in deep northern winter to repair highways right?

Rail is also knocked out. So how exactly do goods flow from Port of Vancouver to western canada?

They don't basically.

Meats is the first thing selling out, which is silly because most meats and dairy are directly sourced in the west. It's everything else that is not.

Possible cause, some recent flooding washed out rail lines in B.C. At least, that's the officially-stated cause

Yup, no rail service, no highway service.

How exactly does Port of Vancouver goods flow to western Canada? Only by air, which is logistically impossible to feed western canada. Shipped up from western US or Prince Rupert container port which is already backed up and mostly handles chinese goods.

Three questions.

1. What if you had enough not to give a fuck?

2. What if you live next door to a farmer/butcher?

3. What if your income outpaced inflation and the world problems? Let the world sort it out?

Does any of it apply?

Farms in northern BC? Not growin much from October through March. It's one helluva long winter up there.

There's the odd cattle ranch mostly hobby stuff, personal or extended family supply.

Stressed supply chains snarled anew as B.C. floods wash out rail lines, roads

It's the just-in-time western supply chain delivery system. People are trained on it like gerbils.

Back in the day, a full pantry was a massive stockpile, people knew what could happen after the Great Depression hit and people remembered that for a very long time.

They began forgetting about the hard times in the 70s, and now consumers are clueless like a bad George A. Romero film.

Not so much losers as programmed and trained like hamsters on a wheel from womb to grave.

You can't eat money. If you live in western canada stock up. If ya don't, probably no worries except the fuckaround with a full container port with 30 to 40% of it's cargo undeliverable is going to turn into a logistical nightmare and cause further disruptions to the west coast backlog.

What if you already had money, tangibles, food, water, community, bullets, significant cash, labor, and so much more? Those that got injured playing games, will perish well before those that stocked up eliminate their supply playing for real. At worse, those prepared simply top off their supplies.

Don't become a target.
