And, I would probably go look and see if there were recent EAM messages, particularly long ones. I've been watching this stuff for a while now. Maria Kalesnikava was one of three women who found themselves at the head of mass street protests in 2020 that came close to toppling Belarus' long-ruling dictator Alexander Lukashenko. Kalesnikava, 39, was imprisoned after she tore up her passport to prevent Lukashenko's security forces from forcibly deporting her in 2020. She became one of Belarus' most prominent political prisoners, sentenced to 11 years in prison in September 2021 on charges of extremism and seeking to illegally seize power that were widely condemned by western countries as politically motivated. continues: [link to www.msn.com (secure)] Poison? P. 2902 One Year Since the Invasion: A Re-cap Ukraine Situation Report: Russian Artillery Advantage Diminishing Story by Howard Altman • 1h ago Even before Russia launched its all-out invasion of Ukraine, artillery has played a large role in the conflict there, dating back to shortly after Moscow’s initial incursion into the Donbas back in 2014. The use of artillery of course drastically increased after Feb. 24, with Russia able to fire off far more rounds than Ukraine thanks to an overwhelming advantage both in the numbers of tubes and shells available. But as both sides continue to fire thousands of artillery rounds at each other every day, Russia’s vast numerical superiority is diminishing, a senior U.S. military official told reporters, including from The War Zone, Tuesday morning. “The Russian ability to outpace the Ukrainians in artillery is nothing new,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. “That has decreased over time in terms of the ratio at which the Russians have been able to out-shoot the Ukrainians. Part of that is probably due to Russian munitions numbers. It's also due in part to Ukrainian effectiveness with the employment of their artillery and some of their systems. The ability of the Ukrainians to identify Russian artillery systems and Russian radars has been pretty effective and they've been combining the use of not just their tube artillery, but as you know, the [M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or] HIMARS and the employment of [Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System, or] GMLRS to get after the Russian artillery effectiveness.” continues: [link to www.msn.com (secure)] AKA Tiger Blood |

P. 2902 One Year Since the Invasion: A Re-cap Turkish Laser-Guided Artillery Rockets Could Be Giving Ukraine New Capability Story by Joseph Trevithick • 2h ago Ukraine's military is reportedly now employing versions of the Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher system, or MBRL, from Turkish manufacturer Rokestan, against invading Russian forces. Those same reports indicate that the launchers are ironically mounted on Russian-made trucks and that they came along with precision-guided 230mm TRLG-230 artillery rockets. TRLG-230 is in many ways analogous to the 227mm M30/M31 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets that the Ukrainian armed forces have received so far from the United States and others for use with M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, and variants and derivatives of the M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System. However, the TRLG-230s have a laser seeker that allows them to engage dynamic targets, a capability that the M30/M31s do not offer. continues: [link to www.msn.com (secure)] AKA Tiger Blood |

P. 2902 One Year Since the Invasion: A Re-cap Explosive Leak of ‘Presidential Lockdown Order’ Roils Kremlin Story by Allison Quinn • 47m ago Russia appears to have taken one giant step closer to turning into North Korea as problems pile up at home, even as the Russian military tries to keep its flailing grip on Ukraine. The Russian news outlet Baza on Wednesday reported that male members of Russia’s presidential administration have been banned from taking trips abroad—after one staffer apparently failed to ever return. Citing unnamed sources, the outlet said an order had been issued within the administration that says such a ban will be in effect until restrictions tied to the “mobilization” are lifted. Even vacations abroad are now reportedly prohibited for those within Vladimir Putin’s circle. “It’s possible that this is a precautionary measure, since there is a rumor among officials in the administration that such a requirement appeared after the ‘escape’ of an employee from one of the departments,” the outlet reported. The Kremlin has denied the claims, with Dmitry Peskov telling RIA Novosti the report was “downright untrue.” But the report came as Moscow appeared to take further steps at reining in dissent at home—and ratcheting up the crazy in its war rhetoric. continues at source: [link to www.msn.com (secure)] AKA Tiger Blood |

P. 2902 One Year Since the Invasion: A Re-cap Support for Putin's war in Russia has plunged, leaked poll reveals Story by Nataliya Vasilyeva • 1h ago Support for the war in Ukraine has fallen dramatically in Russia, according to a leaked Kremlin poll that piles further pressure on Vladimir Putin. Just one in four people are now in favour of keeping Russian troops in Ukraine, down from 57 per cent in July. The findings were published in a report for senior government officials by the Kremlin’s Federal Guard Service, which was obtained by Meduza, an independent investigative news website. The drop in support comes after Russia ordered tens of thousands of men to be mobilised and sent to the front lines. Mr Putin attempted to calm rising anger last week with a public meeting with the wives of soldiers. Attrition levels remain high on the front lines as reports continue to surface of poor training and equipment for recently mobilised Russian conscripts. continues: [link to www.msn.com (secure)] AKA Tiger Blood |

We're running out of tubes and spares to give Ukraine equally fast to Russia even though we were never gonna numerically match them in tubes or round counts but our donations are disproportionately effective even if they die relatively quickly to Russian fire. There's a whole bunch of lessons to be learned from Ukraine that I very much hope the pentagon is learning here. 1. M777 and towed guns in general are a bad investment both in their inability to hold up to sustained high volume and in towed guns just flat being a liability that are way too easy to kill. 2. We need to expand our large gun tube production pretty drastically and fairly quickly. 3. The most expedient way to do this is to push the Brutus gun system over the line since it has a 25%+ lower parts count is lighter and can be manufactured in higher quantities with the same facilities while being more amenable to high round counts. 4.until we can expand gun tube production we need to improve gun survivability by at minimum truck mounting in quick displacement capable forms out remaining stores to conserve them. 5. Guided artillery works! We need to be capable of producing pgk fuze kits for at least 90% of our shell Production capacity. 6. Have I mentioned expanding production of literally everything yet? Because we need to be radically expanding our production base and preferably adding a second large tube production facility somewhere away from watervliet so we can sustain sabotage at one facility without losing all barrel production. roguetechie |
