My Wives National Company Is Limiting Purchase Quantities.. The Reason Might Just Surprise You.

I thought this thread was about a company called "My Wives", with a Mormon pimp renting out his wives.

Guess not.

My wife is a manager for a large very profitable brick and mortor retailer. They have their own warehouses, distribution and trucking so they have product on hand to sell.. They also order far enough out they've been pretty good at maintaining their inventory..

Yesterday a memo comes out limit supply quantities.. At all locations.. The Problem~? Competitors have taken to buying anything they can get their hands on to take to their stores, add 50%-100% markup and look like they have plenty of inventory.. Leaving my wives loyal customers in the communities they serve with no product at any price..

So now the deal is if your a known customer and have a transaction history that supports their a customer and not a competitor.. The sale of anything in any quantity is no problem.

If a competitor is purchasing or suspected of purchasing their inventory to resale, managers must deny the sale then notify a special team who's tracking the issue at their corporate office..

In my humble opinion~? this situation is just going to deteriorate until companies or anyone for that fact, will be vulnerable to not only roving bands of looters.. But also roving bands of corporations with no product..

Is this like a polygamous cult offering on an industrial scale? Like My Wives just manufactures thousand of wives per day? Is the reason they're limiting purchase quantity because things are getting so bad people are starting to adhere to to fidelity once again?

My company participates in this practice.

With shipping costs crazy, not to mention delay time...if there’s a product I can get from said “big box, brick and mortar store,” I will purchase it there and be sure I have what my customers want.

Most of the products are the same price to me, so I can keep my prices pretty much the same. In fact, sometimes it’s cheaper for me to buy at home than the small amounts I would buy from my distributors, since we are just a mom & pop operation and can’t buy in bulk.

No, but it is pretty common for people to buy anything they can at good sale prices to put online at sites like eBay or Amazon.

A lot of people don't even buy this stuff until it is bought on Amazon or ebay. Then they just order it and have it sent to who bought it -they call it retail arbitrage.

For instance, Walgreens had some Versace perfume last night for $29 shipped free. People will put a listing up on eBay for that perfume at $39, and when it sells, they'll just order it from Walgreens with a ship to going to the customer, and they'll use a credit card that they get a good percent of points with, so they make money with a points card, and another bit of $$ for just for ordering stuff.

Do they sell anything other than just brick and mortar?

I deliver things from national department store chains. It is not uncommon to get an entire carload of goods going to a small warehouse. I looked up the warehouses and they advertise services for online arbitrage shipping.

I go to a house in a nice neighborhood that looks like it belongs on the movie Animal House. The windows are out of it. The curtains are superhero towel and what not. That guy orders stuff form department stores all day and night and ships from there. The neighbors have to be furious.

I've thought about doing it for money myself, but then I think of what an incredibly stupid business model it is. It might be profitable for now, but like this post is stating, retailers are going to catch on.

I can't help but wonder how lazy and stupid the people are on the other end that fail to realize they could just go to the store for these items.

The corporate big fish know that worldwide population numbers will be declining for the next few years therefore product inventories will also follow, that is the reason
that production numbers are falling......
