Actually, if more people had held themselves, their social circle's and public figures' feet to the fire for not being politically conservative enough over the past 50 years, America wouldn't have grown so corrupt, greedy, decadent, unethical and dark-hearted.

Decades of liberalism (or, for people who tend to feel kindly towards the word "liberal," leftism) have created a nation that's way less nice, less kind, less stable, less decent and less humane. All that cultural-political liberalism has done nothing more than make the US more liberal, period.
