Some experts have expressed concerns that molnupiravir’s mechanism of action against Covid-19 – mimicking RNA molecules to induce viral mutations– could also introduce harmful mutations within human DNA. Paxlovid, a different type of antiviral known as a protease inhibitor, has shown no signs of “mutagenic DNA interactions”, Pfizer has said." WASHINGTON: Pfizer said Thursday it will sell 10 million Covid-19 treatment courses to the United States government for US$5.3 billion, pending approval from regulators. The pharmaceutical giant asked the US Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday for emergency use authorisation for its Paxlovid antiviral pill which has been shown to cut hospitalisation or death by nearly 90 per cent among newly-infected high risk patients treated within three days of the onset of symptoms. "We were thrilled with the recent results of our Phase 2/3 interim analysis, which showed overwhelming efficacy of Paxlovid... and are pleased the US government recognises this potential," Pfizer chairman and chief executive Albert Bourla said in a statement. "It is encouraging to see a growing understanding of the valuable role that oral investigational therapies may play in combatting Covid-19, and we look forward to continuing discussions with governments around the world to help ensure broad access for people everywhere." [link to www.nst.com.my (secure)] Actually the cost is $530 for the course of treatment. Paxlovid (PF-07321332/ritonavir) is taken orally every 12 hours for 5 days (10 doses total) so $53/pill. Still expensive but whatever. A squid eating dough in a polyethylene bag is fast and bulbous. Got me? |

Protease inhibitors prevent viral replication by selectively binding to viral proteases (such as Hep C protease) and blocking proteolytic cleavage of protein precursors that are necessary for the virus to replicate. It doesn’t interact with human DNA. Protease inhibitors have been used for more than 25 years to treat viral infections like hepatitis and HIV so there’s nothing new about them. The Pfizer of the mid nineties is not the same company as the one in 2021, like many large organizations they've become compromised over time due to poor leadership and a lack of ethics. They've made a shit ton of money from the covid vaccines and most government mandates can be traced back to pressure from this specific company. |

Quoting: Fast 'n Bulbous A few years ago, when people actually paid for medications, most pills were a nickel or a dime apiece. There were some exceptions: Armour Thyroid was a penny a pill, and that included a slightly above-average retail markup, because the pharmacist still had to count out 100 tiny stinky pills and put them in a bottle for 35¢ net. On the other end, Vibramycin was $1 per capsule. That was outlandish, but at least it was a one-time prescription. One capsule a day for two weeks and the burning urination would be behind you. And the pharmacy made about $2 on the $14 prescription. A month of BC pills was $3, a little bottle of insulin was $2 ($2.25 for ultralente). The drug companies were quite solvent, thank you. I haven't seen the ad lately, but Gilead Science was pushing their miracle cure for hepatitis C, about a two month program for a mere $1000/pill. Ask your provider! This makes $53 look like a bargain. Assuming it works. Assuming there's a real danger being posed by the invisible enemy. |

How much are people saving for their prescriptions now? Zero, if anything the costs skyrocketed. No it didn't some will argue. Guess they forgot to add in all the $$$ handed over to big pharma on the back-end for the vax and now more $$$ handed over to big pharma for these pills. I am assuming people do realize the actual costs for big pharma to research( hahaha/research) the vax and new pills is so minimal it is as if big pharma had all these concoctions in their closet waiting. Ohhhh wait. |
