I dunno that I'd call this mental illness.

As far as trans-humanistic transformations go, his looks better than most hollywood productions, and had to cost him a fortune on top of enduring immense pain and long recoveries over a long period of time.

Seems more of a deep, dedicated, artistic physical transformation into what he believes himself to truly be. To call it mental illness without hearing his story is a stretch given the lifelong effort. He's no more mentally ill than any trans out there leading a completely normal life as far as I can tell.

Just my opinion, of course. I'm interested in hearing what he'd have to tell about his side of such a drastic expression of his true nature.
