i heard some of the trial opinions
some judicial experts on FOX NEWS precisely, were saying how if you're suspecting a crime that's going on, you call the police
you can't apprehend somebody just because you THINK he might be the perpetrator
can't just civilly arrest folks on the streets
they went hunting
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80563402 That would undermine our entire civilization and form of government. That is the same as saying the police can't arrest someone for being suspected of a crime either. The government, nor any of it's administrators, can have any powers the people do not themselves possess. If I don't have the right to do something, then no agent who works on my behalf may have it either. If I interrupt what appears to be a rape, are you suggesting I cannot apprehend and use force against the suspected person? If he attacked me am I not allowed to respond. I'm not weighing on either side of this particular case, but the thinking you just put forth destroys the rule of law and makes anarchy inevitable. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13067080 you need to witness the crime in order to have the right for citizen's arrest the judge said that clearly before the final arguments Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78423995 Not entirely true, at least here in Texas. If you have probably cause to believe a felony was committed, you don't actually have to witness it in person.
