OP have you ever done an extended water fast for more deeper healing and cleansing? Do you do the 20/4 Every day or do you have a day you change up? Have you stopped eating anything specific in conjunction with the IF? Quoting: SomethingsAfoot I lift weights 4 days a week and do moderate cardio. I have done that pretty regularly for 25 years. My diet went to crap when I had my child and I let myself go, gained 60 pounds over ten years. Still working out most weeks, but as my diet went bad and the metabolism naturally slowed as I aged, pounds packed on, along with all the aches, pains, etc. I have always heard that diet is far more important than exercise for weight loss and health. I can attest to that, as I have aged my training has stayed consistent but as my diet went to hell I got fat. A few hundred hours of research on fasting and health...it is world changing stuff. |

TPTB have been killing you with food for decades. true....its all true. I try to eat only between 5-9pm with only green tea, coffee, or water the other 20 hours. There are some little hacks to make it easier, safer, and more efficient. Extra electrolytes and fat soluble vitamins are one if you are truly using fat stores as fuel. High fat snack at the end of the eating window will keep you satiated and prime your body to use fat as fuel is another. Planning the nutritional value of your meals helps. With a small window it may take 2-3 days for you to get all the recommended vitamins and minerals into your diet. Don't worry, you don't need the whole spectrum of nutrition everyday. Spreading it out over a couple days is fine, but tracking it helps you not to forget something and then becoming deficient in. In the beginning , staying busy so not to think about food helps. after a couple weeks its EZPZ. Its all about insulin control. Once you get into the groove you will notice changes in your skin and mental clarity, and its all for the better. |

I've also cut out most all refined sugar, refined flour, and all nut/seed oils. Doing this brought me from borderline high blood pressure to the lower range of normal, and likely kept me from becoming a diabetic. Also, I've lost approximately 70 pounds of fat. So now everyone go around 24/7 with water and snacks, constantly eating and drinking, despite being neither hungry or thirsty. It keeps people's insulin levels elevated all the time. The insulin levels never have a chance to normalize. I've been telling people for years to eat when they're hungry and drink when they're thirsty, and they just look at me like I'm crazy. It's like you deranged idiot, how do you think your grandparents survived and managed to live to be in their 80s and 90s with no major medical interventions, despite drinking scotch like water and smoking like a chimney??? okie |

I disagree on the yogurt unless perhaps you make it yourself from the cow you milk yourself or buy raw milk from local family farmer. Todays dairy? NOT good for the body. Most took it out to conform to modern consumerism. Fasting is basically what our ancient ancestors did. You woke up. You were probably thirsty, you walked to the nearest water source and drank. Then you spent most of the day running around hunting and trying to catch your meal. By evening if you were lucky you would be cooking your catch over fire. Then with a full belly you would fall asleep for the night. |

I am at my perfect weight feel great.. never had acid reflux.. don't have pains throughout my body. My theory was the less I east the less my body has to manage and I really should only eat when I am hungry. I never eat fastfood only foods that don't have chemicals in them of any kind. I highly recommend but glad also to hear of these additional benefits. |

It's going to let you know when it's hungry. I think the problem arises when you tell people they can only eat during a certain window or something. The key thing is to wait until they're hungry. When the body is giving you the I'm hungry signals, that means your blood sugar and insulin have dropped back to baseline and are ready for more. That's the important thing is to wait until your body is signaling it's back to baseline. Eat when you're hungry, drink when you're thirsty, and sleep when you're tired. I think another problem is people eating the same shit over and over because their guru said you can only eat this or that. Everything has positives and negatives, and eating the same thing over and over, all day every day, is going to cause problems. We've used additives and refined foods to hijack our taste buds, but there's also a certain logic to eating what sounds good. If it's not something obviously bad like refined sugar, it's probably your body telling you it needs it. Like if fish sounds better than chicken or a steak sounds better than a salad. okie |
