My dear sweet Mother never got the public obituary she deserved. Shortly before she passed, neighbors noticed our house being cased with multiple, slow drive-bys of the same vehicle craining their neck to take in as much detail as possible. She was under hospice care at home. We were convinced an aide told family what my parents had & planned to rob the house during the funeral.
As a result, friends guarded the house & were well armed during the funeral.
We withheld a public obituary so they would not know when & would have to guess.
Word was spread via phone calls only & Mom had an impressive & we'll deserved turnout at her service in spite of their being no obituary.
It all worked out, but I'm angry we felt the need to take such measures.

I have a feeling many aides tell criminal family members what is in the homes they go to.
