What bullshit. The dindew tried to take the guys gun away. I would have fired in self defense as well.

Yes, they should have detained him alive until the police arried if posible, but make no mistake the "victim" was a criminal. No. He was snooping through a house under construction. They should have called the police to report a prowler. I would only advocate pursuing someone if you just witnessed a violent crime, while you are on the phone with 911 to let them know where the guy is traveling. Then when a police car shows up, you turn away and let them take care of business. These dudes were assholes looking for trouble. They found it and ended up killing someone.
