Have you tried to find out what happened in the lead up?
These guys jumped in a truck and chased the dude down.

But he didn't take anything at that time. TBH, I have xplored construction sites. Why? Checking quality of workmanship to decide if I wanted to consider that builder for my construction job. Then you broke the law. You were trespassing. Period. I assume, then, you have no problem with people you don’t know looking around in one of your “construction jobs”, even at night?
