You know, that tweet could have ended with Marie Antoinette's statement: "Let them eat cake."

That said, our grocery stores locally are full of empty shelves.

It costs the grocer to have empty shelves. It's expensive real estate. We have a lot of limits on things here. Canned and bottled soda, TP, Paper products, cat food and dog food at my local store.

I see a lot of the product isn't deep on the shelves. They can't spread it out like they do in some places because they'd have to remove their price stickers. And there are a lot of reasons they don't want to remove them.

A friend of mine in the UK said they are redesigning supermarkets there to be more like Aldi, with limited selections and less of a variety.
