Step one, rub some hand sanitizer on the bird.
Step two put a mask on the bird before putting it in the oven. Step three save the planet and don't use any house hold utilities.
Step four fight with your family over every topic you can think of.
Step five snich and report all activity to the thought police.

The CDC says to just eat your turkey raw, it's for the greater good.

Dump salt on it and in it and rinse it all off.
Been doing it for decades, from generation to generation.

Sounds like it saves us the time of brining it.

while that might go on.

the spitting

the peeing

etc.

are people really horny enough that they jerk off on animal products?

i remember there were some guys caught in arizona at a taco bell..about 10 years ago, who were taking big dumps in the bean pot...that i totally believed, plus the beans were tested, and contained massive amounts of feces

that i believe..

but who really tugs on out at work?

BULLSHIT !

Screw this advice.

I will ALWAYS rinse the bird well. Really well. It has been soaking in
an injected brine and natural body juices for weeks, if not months.

Hot temperatures can kill most germs — usually at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Since you normally cook a bird to an internal temperature of 155 or so, then remove it
from the oven where it continues to cook itself for 10 or so min, this should be more than fine.

After the COVID lies, I will NEVER trust any guidance the CDC issues.

How can I possibly be sure that the illegal Mexican who prepped my turkey was not sick with covid, leprosy, or had close contact with Joe Biden prior to packaging my bird?

It'd be my luck that meat plant worker had just finished digging in his tape worm infested ass prior to packing up my turkey bird.

Thanks anyway, I'll continue to rinse my turkey in the sink with a mix of bleach and water prior to cooking.

I feel much safer doing this.

can't spread germs in my solid copper sink, that kills them on contact

fuck the cdc- they would prefer you eat the germs - knowing cold water kills bacteria

are you serious? not wash the bird - ever look inside one? even the organic ones are disgusting

Re: CDC: Don’t Wash Your Thanksgiving Turkey
With Thanksgiving almost here, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued tips on the safest way to prepare your turkey.

First of all, you should not wash or rinse your bird. That may seem counterintuitive, but washing the turkey can spread germs and bacteria all over your kitchen.
[link to www.webmd.com (secure)]

Do not wash or rinse raw turkey. Federal food safety advice has recommended against washing turkey or chicken since 2005, but some habits are hard to break. A 2020 survey* found that 78% of participants reported washing or rinsing turkey before cooking. Old recipes and family cooking traditions may tempt you to keep this practice going, but it can make you and your family sick. Poultry juices can spread in the kitchen and contaminate other foods, utensils, and countertops.
