Re: CDC: Don’t Wash Your Thanksgiving Turkey
With Thanksgiving almost here, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued tips on the safest way to prepare your turkey.

First of all, you should not wash or rinse your bird. That may seem counterintuitive, but washing the turkey can spread germs and bacteria all over your kitchen.
[link to www.webmd.com (secure)]

Do not wash or rinse raw turkey. Federal food safety advice has recommended against washing turkey or chicken since 2005, but some habits are hard to break. A 2020 survey* found that 78% of participants reported washing or rinsing turkey before cooking. Old recipes and family cooking traditions may tempt you to keep this practice going, but it can make you and your family sick. Poultry juices can spread in the kitchen and contaminate other foods, utensils, and countertops.

This is another example of their "greater good" and "one size fits all" type mentality that they've become infamous for over the past 2 years. One person might splash a bunch of "washed bird water" around the kitchen like the idiot, therefore "no one" should ever wash their bird..okay, if they say so.

No matter what suggestion comes from a gov agency full or morons like the CDC; I will make sure to do the opposite of what they suggest. I have never needed a gov agency to be my daddy.
 Quoting: SmoothSailing

These days it seems very smart to do the exact opposite of whatever any official government agency or MSM outlet tells you to do.

If they say don't wash your Turkey you was your turkey, if they say wear masks you don't wear one, if they say vaccines are good it means they are bad etc etc.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80771016

It's a dead body that has been festering in a wrapper for a week or more. Maybe some families rinse the turkey off and then clean up the sink and surrounding area, like they aren't retarded like the CDC.

Does the CDC recommend that you wash your hands after you take a shit, or do you just put gloves on? Washing your hands at the sink might spread e-coli germs.
How about washing the lettuce that the field workers got shit on when they wiped their ass with it?

I'm pretty sure the CDC has outlived their usefulness.

While the CDC is correct in this case I think it would be better to advise people to carefully rinse their turkey under low running water. After which they should thoroughly wash their sink and counters around it to ensure no cross contamination occurs.

This is basic food handling.

BULLSHIT !

Screw this advice.

I will ALWAYS rinse the bird well. Really well. It has been soaking in
an injected brine and natural body juices for weeks, if not months.

Hot temperatures can kill most germs — usually at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Since you normally cook a bird to an internal temperature of 155 or so, then remove it
from the oven where it continues to cook itself for 10 or so min, this should be more than fine.

After the COVID lies, I will NEVER trust any guidance the CDC issues.

Revelation 16:2 (The first Angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and severely painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast) .. Could this be a small pox outbreak an those being effected accepted something (a mark??) from the beast?

As if any announcement from the cdc is valid these days.

There is a concentrated effort within these organizations and the media to make people sick:

1. Don't bathe often
2. Don't clean your house
3. Don't take vitamins
4. Being fat is healthy
5. Covid "vaccines" work
6. Exercise may kill your
6. GMO and HFCS and Aspertame are not bad
