If Ahmaud Arbery had not tried to fight back, would they have shot him, or just turned him over to the sheriff? He was shot during the fight. It seems stupid to me to start a fight against armed men. If they started messing with a rope, maybe, but I think their plan was just to arrest him and hand him over.
