All during covid, the threats loomed. What happed? Stocks are up overall to highs never known. I don't even keep track anymore. What's the difference unless you are leveraging or borrowing against it?

400 points is a nothing burger today. When the market was a whopping 12,000 points, or 20,000, it impacted. Today it's just another day in the market. I wouldn't worry at 1200 down.

It matters in terms of individual stock if you are day trading that stock, of course it's a loss. You're supposed to have a diverse portfolio to sustain the loss.

400 points is nothing up here in the nose bleeds. I am not even going to pay attention until we see 3%+ moves down. That would be 1000+ point moves on the Dow. And even then, that would only be a "down day". I would only start to be concerned with 7%+, 1800 point plunges on a regular basis.
