Anonymous Coward User ID: 55552286 United States 11/28/2021 09:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Named / Called - When did this happen? I've noticed lately that when referring to someone's name the term "called" is used. As in this person is called so and so.
In the past terms like named, by the name of, this person's name is, and so on have been customary.
Using the term called sounds sterile and impersonal to me but seems to be trending if not what is appropriate now days. Weird.
Is this a Mandela effect, a trend or part of a greater conspiracy to deperson people.
Personally, if I'm introducing you I'm going to still say "your name is" rather than "this person is called" |
