When i was in 3rd grade we had a teacher that would put on red lipstick and leave a big smooch mark on your face if you won a classroom game around the holidays or it was your birthday. She always had a story about her smooch marks being good luck as kids finding a $10 bill on the curb while walking home.

I don't even remember any of my teachers talking about their personal life or bringing in their significant other/spouse.
Why is any of this relevant to 1st graders?
