Quoting: rob2 wtf is that shit? we dont sing about killing foreigners.. so now i have to wonder about the people themselves not just their elite. I too found this extraordinary. Perhaps it was a metaphor, something to do with autumn blossoms. It's a psy-op |

This will probably shock you. Quoting: MisterBlisterr [link to streamable.com (secure)] You are quite excited about this... The song is called Sebonsakura, originally sang by a character called Hatsunemiku (manga). The subtitles are not accurate. America is not even mentioned! It is an old song (2011), mostly popular with otaku. It's hard to directly translate the Japanese meaning of the lyrics due to the imagery but the theme is basically about the westinisation of Japan after the war and resentment at the loss of traditional Japanese values. It could be interpreted in many ways, although it should be understood in the context it was created for, in Kimetsunoyaiba (English = Demon Slayer, manga) However, believing that a single song, wrongly interpreted at that, speaks the mind of most Japanese people is... well let me just say that it says more about the person who would believe that in the first place. If I watch Tom and Jerry cartoon and think all Western people are like that... am I coherent? I'm Japanese and don't think as you implied, neither do any of my friends here in Australia or back in Japan, as far as I'm aware at the least. |
