I'm willing to bet omicron has been floating around for a month, it just so happens it was detected/discovered recently. My whole family had Covid from the beginning of Nov, through the end. My mom ended up passing and my wife got pneumonia from it. My son and I just got a bad cold that was gone in 4 days. What ever variant it was, it spread fast in the house.

He is stating it is a new case of only domestic travel. This case of Omicron did not leave the United States so therefore the source of infection has to be continental, or already in the states.
