It's non-poisonous but will kill all bugs, ticks, and parasites. Quoting: O.Hai I've used food grade DE in my house for the last three weeks as well as directly on my dogs, and it's not effective. Vinegar has worked better than DE in the house. Perhaps DE to maintain the yard, but I think I need the big guns to kill the infestation first. . . "Stop the lockdown. Stop the masks. I wonder if there is some sort of mineral imbalance or something. I would also wonder if a few barn cats might help cut back on rodent population which might help. You can outfit them with flea collars. There might be a "spirit cat" semi-feral cat organization near you that can supply you with adult cats who need a job. “A grower of turnips or shaper of clay, a commot Farmer or a king--every man is a hero if he strives more for others than for himself alone.” Lloyd Alexander, The Castle of Llyr |

They eat all insects, you won't have to feed them as much chicken food, and you have the benefit of your own eggs. I have a flock of 11 girls and it is the best thing I have done in a long time. And they are fun! No good deed goes unpunished. |

There are a few feral cats around, and one that frequently takes shelter under my house (raised). I'm appreciative for the rodent patrol in this regard. When you say mineral imbalance, you are referring to the soil, yes? Interesting. I've not checked for that, and it's quite possible because we've had massive amounts of flowing water on the property during the last several years for various reasons inclusive of the Harvey flood. Thanks for raising that variable for reasons even outside the flea issue. Last Edited by TXP on 12/03/2021 09:29 AM . "Stop the lockdown. Stop the masks. It kicks their butt if I use it 3 times a year. My dogs can roam over a few hundred acres so I keep the yard clean of critters with BBG and it works if used correctly. and cheap. Quoting: Eilonwy [link to homeguides.sfgate.com (secure)] Yes, thank you. I spent a good week investigating DE, as I do with most topics before I pull the trigger. So, yes, I've correctly used and applied it in the home inclusive of cleaning, vacuuming, washing everything before application. They are coming in from outdoors every time the dogs go outside to potty/run, and the DE is not enough to kill them in the house with this constant reintroduction. . . "Stop the lockdown. DE is only good until it gets wet (and it takes days to kill) and don't put it anywhere near finished wood (it will take the finish right off, learned that the hard way on a log home) You have to train your mind to be stronger than your emotions or you will lose yourself every time |
