I was wondering what took the cops so long to show up, but I forgot they are very busy enforcing covid passports.

11.30.2021 | 1:50 AM | SOUTH LOS ANGELES - Raw camera footage shows the dramatic moments where 6 cars wrecked on the 110 freeway. A single vehicle crash occurred on the southbound I-110, directly over Florence Ave. 4 additional crashes occurred as result of the initial collision, with multiple near misses. All 4 additional crashes are on camera, and several near misses. A total of 6 vehicles were involved in the awful wreck. LAFD paramedics responded and transported one male victim and one female victim to the hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the initial vehicle that had crashed fled the scene on foot. Major damage was done to multiple vehicles involved in the crash. An OnScene.TV photojournalist was traveling northbound on the 110 when he witnessed the initial single-vehicle crash on the southbound side. Multiple witnesses reported the initial crash to CHP. The photojournalist exited the freeway and went to the crash, and informed CHP of the incident. While on scene, the photojournalist attempted to warn oncoming motorists utilizing flashing lights and aiming a directional spotlight at the crashed vehicles, lighting the scene, however, 6 vehicles were involved in the crash. The photojournalist contacted 911 although police were already enroute to the scene to notify authorities that additional vehicles were involved. Unfortunately, only so much can be done without jeopardizing personal safety.

Some people have been wondering why there are no flying cars like we saw in the sci fi movies or in the Jetsons.

You can look no further than watching in this video these moronic drivers going fast and not paying attention to disabled or damaged cars on the freeways and getting themselves into more collisions.

Some morons shouldn't be allowed to drive on the roads at all. FFS, state BMVs should be giving driving intelligence tests to weed out these morons from getting driver licenses.

It's no wonder that California is so fucked up.

Re: Hit and Run on Busy L.A. Freeway Escalates Quickly into a Multiple Vehicle Accident
I drove onto a sheet of ice coming off a mountain in Washington state, and nearly hit the back end of a 18 wheeler. I was smart and didn't hit my breaks, I just let the compression slow me down.

A truck coming up behind me hit his breaks, and spun out of control, and smash into the embankment.

I saw a pileup on the other side of the freeway, and cops trying to stop drivers before they hit the pileup.

A pileup probably started on my side of the freeway, but I got out of there before it started.

As a "Professional Driver" I gotta say, none of this surprises me.

In general people are terrible drivers in the cities, did you notice how many people there were NOT truck drivers turned on their hazard lights?? Maybe two?

I see people from my high vantage point texting and driving, CONTINUOUSLY, and I mean 10-15 times an hour. And some people are NOT good at hiding it at all.

The basics of driving are non existent in I would say, 40% of drivers.

And it used to be you could count of "professional Drivers" to be generally good drivers. But with the truck driver shortage I've seen a HUGE increase in idiot big rig drivers the last 6/7 years.

It's dangerous AF out there on the highways. Pay attention and slow down.

I'v had so many independent contractors pulling amazon trailers that almost kill me, I avoid their trucks now. I don't have a death wish. Only time I ever see a semi flying down a grade doing 75 mph, it's pulling amazon. They also make it really fucking hard to report their drivers who are violating tons of laws and putting people in danger. They just don't care.

Are all drivers in LA/California this retarded?

I can't imagine how these idiots would drive in an environment with snow or ice on the road.

lol

My daughter, who was accustomed to driving in rain or snow in the notheast, lived in San Diego for 6 years. Because it hardly ever rains there, she said that when it did, there were so many accidents. People couldn't drive in the rain!

Here ya go....I just googled "driving in rain in San Diego," and articles appear:

Why San Diego drivers are fools in the rain

Q. Do people drive a lot worse in the rain in San Diego, CA?
A. Yes. Some drivers in San Diego lose their minds when it rains.
 Quoting: nutmeg

The problem is with the accumulation of oil on the asphalt combined with the rare rain. Lots of hydroplaning. We've all encountered it, even when stopping at intersections.

Oh, the memories of living in LA. Dodging reckless drivers was a daily event. I'm sure it's worse now with clot shots.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79895636

in general people are driving faster, AND DO NOT KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE FROM OTHER CARS FOR THOSE SPEEDS,

then you also have the fog factor,

looking at the video i could see a foggy bottom,

that fwy goes from downtown to the port where containers are unloaded, so you can get an idea of where it is at,

people drive incredibly fast on those and other fwys,

and the clot shots are kicking in,

IT IS SOMETHING OUT OF A SCI FI MOVIE KIND OF LIKE MAD MAX BUT WITH A MEDICAL TWIST

It's tough to get a vehicle off the freeway without CHP help.

The last time I was rear ended during rush hour, the CHP had to stop all lanes of traffic in order to get mine and the three vehicles behind off. People tailgate at high speed entirely too much.

Notice there is zero street light or illumination on that highway.

People rammed into the wrecked cars and debris because they were unable to see what was in front of them.

They also seemed to be moving at a high rate of speed.

Similar happened to the Misses and I on the toll road in Dallas. Our suburban was sideswiped by an overloaded Uber car.

All airbags deployed upon initial impact and we were skidding sideways. Somehow I knew we were headed for the concrete embankment median. I yelled to her - hold on this ones gonna hurt. Bam. We hit it hard and came to a stop but positioned sideways with multi cars coming up behind us.

I jumped out and said honey come on, cars coming. She was in shock and wouldn’t move. Her door was jammed. I reached in from the drivers side and pulled her out then we ran to the shoulder.

Dallas toll road is a death trap.

Heh, I learned to drive in Cali in the 70s. I lived in no-snow-zones for most of my life. I moved to WI....rimshot

I do believe it has got to be better to be raised up in snow country, if you're going to drive in snow country.

Even here in New Mexico, we get snow and ice. It's not often, but it happens. I was trying to drive a client to Las Cruces for an appt. the morning after a (for us) debilitating snow storm.

I was driving down the highway, going so slow, hit black ice, and the car fish tailed, and then went across all the lanes to the other side, turning around along the way, and we landed in a ditch, facing the highway.

When we came to a stop, I let out a yelp - ya know, a "HOLY CRAP!, I'm in one piece" yelp - and my client was crying. Just about scared her to death.

Fortunately, the roads were almost empty, so no one was in our way while sailing across the highway, and someone came along in a truck, jumped out, got some rope, and pulled us out of the ditch. Heh, we went back home.

Never again will I travel on icy roads. There's not anything in the world that anyone needs that badly, that I have to drive in it.

chuckle....and I know youse guyses who grew up in snow country are saying, "Pfht, just another winter day for us....yuh snowflake."

One problem is they don't really teach people anymore in driver's ed. I bet most new drivers have no idea the hazard lights even exist. I agree that the freeway was dark, but they are supposed to teach you how to deal with that. People also drive way too damn fast, but again, stay in the right two lanes in CA and you'll stand a better chance of being okay.

Why aren’t there electronic signpost warnings every mile or so on highways to tell all traffic to slow down or stop when an accident first happens, or some sort of warning which can flash up on car dashboards?
