Mine doesn't either (except my 2 brothers) , which is why I didn't reply to them with my decline. I think I may threaten to show up, so they get uneasy.

I'm inviting a few other like us over to my place for a quiet evening of food and drinks.

After my parents died, I don't have much family.

I imagine my in laws will do something, and we get invited by default...but we always do everything as our small family.

I got a sister who is a drug addict that is trying hard to stay sober and do it right. It's far too early on that road to let her back into the house and be "normal" that we may go and take her out to dinner Xmas Eve or the day she has off around that time.

Nope and you know what it's pathetic. I almost don't care anymore. Sorry about your dad. My sister passed away a few weeks before Christmas one year. Not being a sob story but you would think people would wanna get together. Oh and a Uncle too and a Aunt. But I know they don't wanna cause of omricon bullshit. I'm not gonna deal with that. Thanksgiving was the same story. I'm just gonna do my own thing. My family has got lame anyways. It will just turn into a political thing too. I don't even talk to some of my family. They got mad cause I posted some stuff on facebook about Trump hahaha. There's other family members in conflict right now also not just me. But the ones starting the problems are the ones who don't like Trump. All this political bs is a joke, covid has made it worse with people.

If its purely to cover costs the amount would fluctuate depending on how many people showed up to help pay for the gathering.
