I will tell you that it severely hampers morale and productivity for the people still working there. First thing that goes through your mind is "well no raises or bonuses this year". Then that mindset just travels everywhere until you have a workforce that just does the bare minimum. Kinda like the last days of Communist Russia. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81447633 It’s all a facade with no real monetary value, yet Forbes puts out misleading information because it’s all insiders giving each other reach arounds and leading you all astray. Once the shell, front company has been given the huge loan, they just dump it, take the money and disappear. Your capitalist system is just bank sponsored usury. Tulip Craze. Just like the 1999-2001 period of ridiculous tech startup valuations, VC's and executives cash out then crash the companies into the ground. "Unicorns" that have $20B+ valuations but bleed cash every quarter... crazy stuff. |

It has happened before. The CEO said he cried last time he did it -- so no lesson's learned. And he is a user, not a creator. I would bet this guy forced his people to get vaxx'd. This, a company is a business and it’s always looking to maximise profit, 3 months worth of benefits to keep you going till you find another job sounds good, I’ve been laid many times in my life working in construction and I got zero money and zero benefits, guy sounded genuine and the package he offered was generous, be thankful your American with at least some safeguards because I bet the Indian workers got nothing . |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81421326 So a mostly online company who employs remote workers probably based out of their own home using the Internet, cell phone and cell phone apps, people get fired by Gig economy technology. What else do people expect, an in-person visit cup of Starbucks and a doughnut. We're talking about youngsters who've known no different than Email, Facebook, instant messaging and remote technology. Sucks, but they are not employees with 20 years loyal service turning up at an office / factory / retail outlet etc. putting in a 10 hour shift 5 days a week. Yeah, no kidding, if they want to work at home and all that then that's how they will get let go is via Skype, duh. Why are people making such a big deal about it??? The bigger deal is that this is another canary in the coal mine about coming real estate crash, no?? |
