Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80494445 Proof? They have provided much more proof of reserves than you talking out of your ass. No doubt there are some questions as to the quality of their reserves but your statement is 100% bullshit. Yes they proved that that have 3% in actual cash in their reserves. So out of 60+ billion market cap they have roughly 2 billion actually backing it. The rest is basically Chinese commercial paper. Evergrande anyone?? Anyone who does real research into Tether knows it is only a matter of time before it implodes & takes the market with it. Might be years down the road & we could see new all time highs before it happens. But it’s coming. The only crypto’s that will survive are the iso-2022 compliant bank tokens. |

More tightly regulated stablecoins have grown immensely in recent years, particularly Circle’s usd coin (USDC, +0.03%), which has ballooned to a $27 billion market cap, nearly half of Tether’s issued volume. A wind down of Tether at this point would be chaotic, in other words, but not crippling. [link to www.coindesk.com (secure)] this ^ panic about tether is completely overstated and they do have money, just not what they claim |

That’s what it’s always done. It’s like saying the euro will collapse 80% who gives a shit? What does that have to do with Bitcoin ETH and all the other competing currencies out there? Ohh that’s right fucking nothing. The biggest risks for crypto are faith attacks, where people lose faith in it. Also enforcement attacks. 1. Alphabet co hack it, gain control of the network, reverse transactions 2. They firewall shutdown parts of the internet (can still technically survive) but a lot of faith will be lost 3. They outlaw make it illegal, or bring it fully into the system and just have severe penalties for using something that’s considered a currency like Bitcoin ETH, they’ll allow security utility tokens up until they start behaving like currency. Then they’ll pay a nice visit to the company to change policy or shut it down, or just add specific cryptos to a list of if you use it and are caught jail time. Now fuck off |

Tether is also the most important force driving Bitcoin demand and propping up its price. Bitcoin would collapse without tether. Everyone who isn't an uninformed retard knows that too. HOWEVER, A scam can last a lot longer than you think! Sometimes seemingly forever. The Federal Reserve is a complete scam too, and it has had a pretty good run, don't you think? Circle will have the USDC coin made official soon enough. Then comes all the ISO20022 coins. We already know what they are. I don't have any crypto but here are my thoughts. I don't understand what Tether is for. Why does Bitcoin need Tether? The exchanges obviate the entire point of crypto, which is to be decentralized money. All people should be doing with crypto is buying and selling goods in crypto. The rest is speculation. Lol that's cute "I dont know shot about this, but here's what you do" |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78152892 United States 12/07/2021 10:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The only problem with crypto it's that people still use exchanges to determine the price of coins. Exchanges don't make your trades on chain, they're just entries in a digital database like fiat. This it's easy to manipulate so that certain coins can be favored over other coins like btc and Eth and xmr. The real way to price coins is to determine the value each trader ACTUALLY sends their coins for in REALITY, not on someone's centralized ledger (an exchange). Cryptos record EVERYTHING about a coin and you can determine the fair value directly without exchange participation AT ALL. |

If you're in crypto and you're not aware of the settlement that Tether made with the State of New York, you need to do some more homework. Yes, Tether is somewhat sketchy but will not be the downfall of Bitcoin or anything else. Ah yes the settlement that demanded Tether show all their accounting from here on out and immediately stopped printing as soon as the case was finished which caused the slump in bitcoins rally. Bitcoin only goes up when Tether prints. Look at the charts. Now there is much more adoption I think the Tether scam will have much less impact than say a year or two ago but it will be the reason for the downfall of many a coin. Incase you weren’t paying attention, the narrative is questioning the validity of all non elite approved stable coins, this is to endear the CBDCs that are coming out shortly.l so what better way to do that then show Tether and it’s Ilk to be nefarious. |
