Can Austrians leave Austria?

Well can they?

Yes, Austrians can leave the country, could - even under lockdown... not all border crossings could have been checked.

Many Austrians today think about leaving the country, sadly, this may weaken the forces...

but it is so understandable!


One cannot not think about the Thirties, when many people fled the country... and too many did not, because they thought to be safe.

Most can leave any country. You just have no where to go.

America is the only country that allows immigrants like this.

Most countries are 90 visa

Why they don't have anywhere to go? They are a European Union country, they should be able to find work and place to live in another EU country. So what's the problem?

According to my Austrian neighbor they cannot. She had to write the Austrian Embassy to allow her cousin special permission to leave Austria and come to the US to be her children's nanny. She tells me no one is allowed to leave but that was over a month ago.
