Re: Repentance …

God is a mystery that cannot be described by words (they can only reach so far), if we open our hearts and faithfully surrender to the trueness of God, with the help and presence of Jesus Christ, mysteries beyond our wildest imagination will be revealed to us.
God is a living God and to be in God is to drink the Water of Life
 Quoting: 141

"God is a mystery that cannot be described by words"

So why are you trying to describe IT with Word LoL

There is Already To Much Gods Out There you know surrender myself to something You Label God is risky you know..!! lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80420870

Because words is what we have, so that is where we begin.
For the one who listens beyond the words, then words spoken with God will also reveal truth beyond the words and help us see a path towards God, while words spoken from our selfish desires and even with aid from the demonic realm will, regardless of how beautiful they look or sound, will only bring us on a path into confusion and lostness, if followed.
Only surrender yourself to what is true for you in your innermost, where you meet that face of yourself that you forgot, the face of your soul gazing at the sacred mystery of God
 Quoting: 141

God is not a Label I like 141 for me It's like Saying Look at The Car There lolol And when I look I see so Many Models Of Car hihihi

Tu Comprend....? this lead to Serious Problems from The beginning.!!

You cannot Use the Label WORD GOD..! Because you Put Fire to the confusion you speak Above lol

Yes I get what you mean and the word god has indeed been abused in many ways, that is also why it's important to find that true connection in your heart and soul, regardless of what word you would use to describe it, as the language at this point of our existence has been watered down so it doesn't really point to the true reality of things (also why I most of the time chose to write in poetry/verses as it more inspires to reader to look for that true rhythm within themselves), so in order to truly listen to each other and also to be able to hear and feel the living and sacred presence of The Most High (to avoid the word god), we need to stop ourselves for a moment and deconstruct the song of the world and even if we are able to do it just for a brief moment and hear the true sacred song of our heart, that will be the drive that inspire us to seek truthfully and let go of all that is blocking us in that endeavor, whether inside or outside

If we look at Michelangelo’s depiction of Adam in the Sistine Chapel, we can see how God stretches out to reach us (humanity symbolized by Adam), but due to Adam’s laid back attitude there is a gap between the finger of God and the finger of Adam, showing that we need to do our part to reach God, and until we are constantly living in the presence of God every moment of our life, there is surely things we need to look at and to let go of, taking an honest look at ourselves from our most truthful point of reference may be a challenge and also a great help for reaching that presence of God, that God so wants for us… part of that is repentance, to let go of judgment of ourselves and others, to live in and with God.

And what repentance are we talking about?

Repentance of sin?

Repentance of unbelief?

Repentance of the Believer?

They are all very different and have different effects and different outcomes.

What urged me to write this OP was as a help to see anything that blocks of from God, from the most sacred that is living in our innermost, regardless of what category it might belong to or what category of person we may belong to, I went to the process myself, because I could also feel and in the process clearly see things that blocked me from being in the true presence of God, and in these days, where the world in many ways seem to be falling into chaos, there is no consolidation to be found in the world and the worldly, and it seems to get only worse going forward, so the true constant and consolidation we can find is, and always were, God, the living presence of the Living God in every moment of our life.
 Quoting: 141

Well this is quite messy. Lets get down to brass tacks and get what each of these things actually are. I don't mean to be insulting but what you describe is not really getting what is needed to derive the truth and what is being sought. It could be in your understanding. It could be in the confusion that has come out by church leadership. It could be your communication. It could be you are not a believer at all and want to sow confusion yourself. I will hope in the positive about you and not immediately jump to the negative.

Repentance for salvation:
This repentance is not a process. This repentance is the repentance that scripture speaks of needed for salvation. This is not repentance of all sin. This is the repentance of unbelief unto belief and happens in a moment. When one is presented with the true gospel of Jesus Christ and they turn from their unbelief in Him to Him as their sole opportunity for heaven and forgiveness of sin and trust that what He did on the cross to save themselves from paying for their own sin in hell, then and at that moment they repent of their unbelief and place their belief in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit Quickens(Makes Alive) through His baptism (not of water) and they become a Child of God, forever. They are BORN AGAIN. Born from above. That which is born of God does not die.
John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1o God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Repentance of sin for salvation. Those who believe that they must repent of sin in order to be saved blaspheme and diminish Jesus' final work on the cross for salvation. You do not even know the amount and the sin in your life to be repented of until the Holy Spirit Quickens you (see above) and comes in to dwell and clean house. This teaching is what all false teachings do in that it creates a WOrks Based Salvation Theology. You must do something in order to be saved. And repentance in this means you actually turn away from that sin never to go back to it ever again. That is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible states Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Repentance when it is referred to in salvation is the repentance unto salvation of your unbelief and not the repentance of sin.
Don't be fooled. Jesus alone paid for that sin. You cannot repent your way to salvation. It is all Him or none at all.

Ephesians 2:8-9vFor by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Repentance unto Sanctification:
Repentance, once saved is a work done by the Holy Spirit of God to lead you to sanctification (or separation to and for God) Once the Holy Spirit comes into your life to live He begins His conviction to bring about your perfecting so you become more and more Christ-like and more useful for the sake of Christ Kingdom and while good works is very much part of this and the benefits of the fruit of the Spirit aka Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Thankfulness, Goodness, Meekness etc, Those are a benefit but the REAL purpose is to make you profitable in reproducing so other will come to Jesus Christ through your example and life in preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Speaking to believers here:
Ephesians 4:21-24 But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off (repent) concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

In all cases repentance is not just thinking it is a complete turning away from sin whether the sin of unbelief or sins of trespasses and turning towards God.

IF you feel that somehow you have turned away from enough sin to now be saved you haven't even started to understand how sinful you are. Stop striving, surrender and believe.

Thank you for sharing that perspectiverose

(28) Jesus said: I stood in the midst of the world, and I appeared to them in the flesh. I found them all drunk; I found none of them thirsting, and my soul was afflicted for the sons of men; for they are blind in their heart, and they do not see that they came empty into the world, (and) empty they seek to leave the world again. But now they are drunk. When they have thrown off their wine, they will repent.

We would like to think that if Jesus came to us in this day and age we would recognize and acknowledge him, and not ending up having him killed for our sins like last time around ... But the question is, would we? Would we recognize him and listen to him with an open heart and an empty cup, or would his sacred words and intentions drown in the noise of all that we already know, would we be able to hear the truth, see the light, and feel the love in and behind his words, or would we just see the flaws and the difference from what we already know?
We should ask ourselves that question to our innermost each and every day, each and every moment ... Even the most sacred religious text cannot replace the Living Word, so any book should be read with the intent to empty that cup, so it may be filled with the Living Waters that are always flowing to us, those Living Words, that are always vibrating in through our soul, not with the intent to fill what is already full.

Without the right intention we can do everything 100% correctly with no result, with the true intent the outer form doesn't matter.

Be blessed
just be love in truth...

Re: Repentance …
These are the days where repentance and returning to God is of uttermost importance, to find and to live within your true faith and within the Love of the Lord, so that you may discern between right and wrong, and so that you, by the Grace of God, may gain the wisdom, faith and courage to walk the path of righteousness, and let the Light of the Lord shine in-through you that you may be a guiding light for your brother and sister, seeking just that glimpse of the true light that may help them in this world entrapped in mist and shadows.

Ask for Jesus Christ to assist you to touch into that deepest innermost part of yourself, where your soul is always gazing at the Glory of God and where you may see your life, your choices, your actions, your words, and your thoughts—all that you hold and all that you bee—with the eyes of God.

From there you can see yourself in truthfulness for real, and you will realize some of it is painful and sits in you like a huge blockade, where you stop the True Light to flow into you … this can be accompanied by hard-to-look-at emotions that can be both positive and negative … from this point, again ask sincerely for the help of Jesus Christ and find that point within you, that deep living spark of God, that innermost of the innermost and from there find your deep urge and thirst for returning to God and let go of all that hinders you by repenting it, finding your remorse and from there sincerely ask for forgiveness, ask to be atoned, healed, made hole, brought back into the sacred life.

Let go and surrender yourself to God and to the process, let it flow like a river deep within that moves naturally and cleanse away all the hindrances for you to be with God again, in truth and in love.

Hello Sir!

I admit I was surprised to open this thread and not see a poem... I have somewhat lost for a time the drive to express myself in that way. Things are changing, becoming a bit of a blur... I seem to be eating breakfast ever 15 minutes ;^)

the following describes a bit the way I feel.

Faith

Thoughts on wings caught in a storm
Embrace my faith as a living form.
Things I know that cannot be known
Emerge from the mist as I am shown.

Logic confused is at a loss for reply.
Emotion betrayed refuses to comply.
Spirit blinded seeks by different means.
Soul survives hidden in distant scenes.

When the fury damages to its fill
And the wind dwindles to the still,
My faith in return, embraces me
Returning my insight and my glee.

Moved many mountains in my mind
Tears and smiles helped to bind.
Now if only peace I could refine
To loft my thoughts on wings divine.

....As well as

The Days Go By

Time is just an illusion created by memory,
As an old man's recollection is only a notion
Filled with moments of heartfelt emotion.
What else can our lives really be?

Remember a taste, a smell or a melody
Perhaps anger, sadness or joyful smiles.
Feels like I've walked a million miles
On a trillion stones to be able to see.

And so it is that I approach the river
A raging rapids visible in the distance.
Compared to my life it seems a mere pittance.
Although the image of crossing makes me quiver.

Would that I could sprout wings and fly
Soaring over that apparition of concern.
Alas, it is not in my fate to overturn.
Every step must I take as the days go by.

But not limited to....

Joy Beyond Measure

I admit a wisp of smoke are we,
As we try to set ourselves free.
We gather the wind in our sails
And try to outrun our travails.

Alas no gale is so strong
To escape what seems so wrong.
The turbid waters wait for us all
But we don't have far to fall.

Memories survive in each of our minds
No matter the storms our heart finds.
With a trusted anchor to hold us steady
Our spirit will always stand ready.

There is no serendipity here
For our faith removes our fear
And gives us joy beyond measure,
As we accept our savior's treasure.

Good to be reminded of you my friend. Take Care

Hello Sir!
We will always need poetry in this world (and any other) as the poems you share here shows so beautifully… you might call yourself an old man, but your words shows, you never lost the youthfulness in your heart and soul.
I believe I wrote a couple of poems after this thread… the day I wrote this one I felt the importance of urging everyone to open their heart to truth and love and let go of all the (self)blame and guilt within, and it just came to me in plain words from one soul in God to another.

I enjoyed reading your poems and they speak to me of hope and despair, light and darkness. In this world it’s no easy task to operate as a living, sensitive being, we get drawn into illusions that serves no true purpose… that’s why we must surrender our heart to God to see through the play of shadow and follow the trail of breadcrumbs, that is lit for us.

May God bless you my friend
Thank you for being here
