Clown World: Gucci Is Selling $870 Sneakers That Purposely Look Filthy | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80696596 United States 12/12/2021 08:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just spent 150 bucks on some Brooks Ghost 13 running shoes. Quoting: Just Passing Through..... Most comfortable running shoes I've ever had, I can't WAIT till their broken in. I also have 360 dollar Red Wing Boots that I've worn to work everyday for the past 5 years. Ive even paid dearly to have them re-soled. I have no problems shelling out good money for a shoe. Alot of back and hip problems stem from not having the right shoes. Also my wife has a couple pairs of Gucci shoes and a wallet snd bag. While I don't understand why people are so desperate to own 500-600 dollar shoes with no purpose, I will say the Gucci stuff my wife has, has lasted and is very well made. She has one pair of Gucci shoes that are almost 8 years old and still look new. She wears them alot. But, 870 for this.....hurrrrr I wear Brooks all the time. Usually, though, I wait until they go on sale on their website and buy them for closer to $100. |

These are at the bottom of the barrel. They look like something Rodney Dangerfield's character would have worn in Caddie Shack - only dirty. Quoting: GA Girl Agreed. Its along the same lines as some 'artist' smearing some whaleshit and bat guano on a canvas then signs it and its worth millions (a la Hunter Biden) Same concept for most of the stuff Gucci, Versace, Prada, etc sell. I tease my wife alot for some of the stuff she wants, but shes a good woman and has always loyally had my back right or wrong. She's a rarity these days so if she wants some ugly ass designer shoes or purses and we have it financially, so be it. Here smile makes it worth it. We are not now, nor have we ever been, a democracy. That's deliberate Communist word shifting. We are a constitutional republic. |

Those have the iconic Gucci look for sure. I love Gucci. I would not buy these but I can understand the vision of the icon sullied and street. It conjures HORDES of hoodrats rushing in to smash and grab high end Sneakers. It says sullied and street, wear them til they fall apart because these are Gucci's damnit, and EVERYONE wants it even if it's not pristine and perfect. 2nd hand Gucci's go skyhigh and they know it. This wearable art is like a testament to the last few years. Last Edited by Hadriana on 12/12/2021 09:01 PM |

The typical price point of these higher end brands, which are no better than the middle brand stuff and made in the same factories in China and Taiwan, or sometimes in Italy by Chinese workers, typically 1599. or in that range or higher for pair of Lubitons and some other higher end brands. Most are not worth it and, they cut higher end shoes far to narrow. Real people are a width C, not an A or B. ALL high end shoes are cut extremely narrow. It's modern foot binding. Only one brand cuts a C width and it's by order only. Last Edited by Feathery on 12/12/2021 09:12 PM Tomfoolery |

They are a joke even to the maker, not enough depth to be able to live life, they need to copy it and think they are special. So Rutter it is laughable! |

Good thing all the shit she buys fills her gaping emptiness and might even impress her friends at the same time We all have our areas where we like to splurge. Do you drive the cheapest car on the market? Live in the cheapest house you could find? I thought not. There will always be a little give and take given your finances and lifestyle. With the Gucci shoes, though, it's expense for ugly and dirty/worn-out looking shoes, and that puts it into the category of, "Why would you do that?" I actually use an MK (Michael Kors) tote/purse. It is a soft plastic with MK all over the front. The first one I got about 15 years ago only because those are my initials and I thought it would be cool carrying around a purse with my initials on it. I think it cost about $200 and I used it daily. You wouldn't believe the work files, lunch, computers that thing carried around for years. I mean, 10 lbs worth of stuff daily! I easily would have gone through 3-4 cheaper purses in that time and actually would have spent much more. Seriously, I had never had a purse so durable. Even though people would give me with nice purses, they would sit in my closet. But alas, the thing finally started to look ratty, so I purhased another just like it. It's actually been the best value per use of any purse I've ever had. So expensive isn't always costly and cheap isn't always the better value. |
