I do believe that there has never been a worse time when it comes the arts, and beauty and fashion is a segment of the arts.

Yes, up is down, and beauty and uplifting is not the point of any arts right now.

However, the number of beautiful people on the planet is always somewhat lower than we expect it to be. Beauty is a quick thing that is far from universal.

However, we can look our best. We can take pride in our looks and we can, instead of following the trends, we can accept what nature gives us and give it a little push in the direction of beauty, health, strength, integrity.

We live in a world where fives, sixes and sevens have all become elevated to eights, while true eights, nines and tens have all been gathered and flown off to Dubai.

A normal, honest, hard-working joe now has to compete for threes and fours "try'n ta" be Sixes on their best day with their greatest efforts and...well...

We realize it's not worth it. All the hassle and compromise to be with a three or four is not worth it.

I agree. I think this has a lot to do with the times we live in. People/ females are not happy. And don’t feel like making the effort.

I just want to say that I've been to some of my high school reunions and the 8-10's of high school do not remain that way, and sometimes the plain girls age really well.

What I've noticed is that everyone I was ever stark raving mad for either ballooned up, dried out or glommed on to a lifestyle I find horrific and 9 out of 10 times...bullet dodged.
