I just woke up from a really weird dream. I was dating Eric Clapton. lol
 Quoting: Tangy

Did he at least play you some music?
 Quoting: YouAreDreaming

He did! He didn't have a car apparently, we had to walk everywhere!

Mom should sleep when baby sleeps...In a short time, he should be sleeping mostly through the night...
 Quoting: BRIEF

Moms can’t sleep when baby sleeps unless it’s her first child. Otherwise she has to stay awake til night time like everyone else.

No they don’t sleep thru the night til 2 years old. Unless you lock them in their own room which i dont agree with.
They feed multiple times a night til 9 months. Then about twice a night. Growing things like pregnant women and kids can’t go all night without food or drink. Unless you force an unreasonable standard on them and change their nature.
 Quoting: SafeandSound

Nah, our children were sleeping through the night at 9 months...From 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM qualifies...I helped with the other kids in the mornings and evening/night so that mom could care for the baby...

Then why do newborns only sleep 45minutes, and your other young kids wake you up at night?

God doesn’t want women to have healthy sleep.
 Quoting: SafeandSound

Newborns need to be fed every 2 hours, because a cycle of sleep is 90 minutes...1.5 hours sleep and 30 minutes to feed and change...

How many children do you have??
 Quoting: BRIEF

My newborns fed every hour.

taking my first week-long break from work in 18 months.

sleeping great, 9 hours vs. the usual 6 restless hours.

dreams have been strange at times, but still great to dream.
I haven't woken up and fallen back into the same dream in about 15 years

It's amazing what a good night sleep does for us. Wish more new all the benefits that come with it and of course dreaming can be a wonderful tool to develop during that rest stop.

I average 6 hours and sleep like the dead always have. I sleep right thru alarms. I have even slept thru a smoke detector alarm and frequently had to switch alarm clocks with my brother when a teen so I would wake on time.

I truly think poor sleep is behind a LOT of what is called "mental illness".

Poor sleep is about over-all unwellness, often. There's lots you can try to do to get better sleep.

People struggle to get up in the morning because they won't make themselves go to bed at a decent hour...

On top of that add a poor diet and financial stress...

Re: Why healthy sleep is important for learning, memory, cognitive health, and dreams.
Understanding the benefits of a good night’s sleep and why we should strive towards a baseline average of 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep as an optimal marker for cognitive health stems from other important neuroscientific discoveries regarding how REM sleep is important for cognitive development[9] and neuronal development and maintenance[10].
 Quoting: YouAreDreaming

That's why the annual bullshit known as Daylight Saving Time is so harmful. It forces people to wake up an hour earlier than they're accustomed to. It screws around with the natural biorhythms of the human body.

DST was bad enough when it was 6 months long. Then they extended it to 7 months. Now it's 8 months long per year.

DST is to the sleep cycle what mRNA vaccines are to wiping out Covid-19.

Absolutely. I've been having trouble sleeping for 6 months or so. I'm a mess: work performance is bad; got my first write up at almost 50 years old. Depression harder than I've ever felt in my life, disrupted diet, and more. It takes me around 5 hours to to fall asleep once I get into bed, so I get 1 to 2 hours sleep a night. non work days are normal though.

I've been studying a lot of sleep-disorders linked to mental health, of course lots of 'big pharm' drugs wreaking havoc on REM and other aspects of sleep due to the past-ignorance about how REM is so vital to our cognitive development that they distrupt it chemically... probably not a wise thing to do in the long run.

Sounds like you have anxiety. Do you hate your work? Might try taking a Benadryl before bed until you figure out what is causing the problem. Maybe another job or different hours might work.

There is so much going on in my head, it's not even funny. Most of it regret and trying to make a life of some kind at almost 50. I can't shut it down at night unless I make myself absolutely physically exhausted, like 20 rep sets of heavy squats. But that's not good to do on work nights because I won't wake up. And after I do sleep, as soon as I wake, it all rains down on me again in such fury I can't even separate any of it. I often drive to work in tears. Is that anxiety, lol? Not complaining though as I've been through worse, just agreeing with how bad sleeplessness is.

Follow these rules:

1. No eating between meals and drink nothing with caffeine in it.
2. Eat a good healthy breakfast in the morning and lunch around noon.
3. No supper--nothing but water after lunch time. (Remember food gives you energy and can keep you awake).
4. For every hour of sleep before midnight is like 2 hours of good restful sleep. So go to bed consistently at the same time, like 9 or 10 pm. With no food you will be ready to go to bed and sleep will come fast.

Try this and see if you don't have a good nights sleep!

Bump!!! 5*
The real trick is to learn to think critically; ask better and more questions. Don't accept anything at face value. Be sure you're making healthy decisions, getting adequate rest and spending proper time reflecting on things.
