Price for energy skyrocketing! Interesting...there have been several posts about a "blackout" coming. Is this related?? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34166608 You can bet it is. Cold front for Europe incoming, too. Tensions with Russia and discussion of North stream pipeline, Germany takes many non-green power plants off beginning January 1st. |

Price for energy skyrocketing! 2 years ago we almost hadna blackout in europe and maby even worldwide. Restarting the grid cannot be done. It will take months and months because of power overloads. Civil unrest wil take hold before even attemps are made to restart. ........... first wave will be cyber attacks on critical infrastructure like powergrid and gas. Nuclear powerplants need to be shutdown because of those attacks. Coal powerplants can't take the load so the powergrid starts to fluctuate starting a chain reaction on transformers. Those transformers can't be rebuild easy and the railroad systems to transport them are demolished 30 years ago. Then physical attacks on the remaining powergrid. After the first stage the anti satelite missiles will be lauched to destroy satelites around orbit making another chain reaction because of debrifields destroying other sats ISS station will be destroyed by it. Third stage all major deep sea cables and stations connected at the coasts will be destroyed. So you won't have internet and other services. Then maby even high altitude EMP detonations. Frying all non secured electronics. all this will happen before even nukes are considered on military infrastructure. The question you should ask... is it a NWO show to depopulate the earth and all countries are working to it. Or is the rivalry between countries real. Only losers are the peasants who are not prepared to live in such world. And even if you survived the initial mass die off and gangs roaming the streets. If you think characters in that show walking dead, like rick grimes and negan are bullshit. You are wrong. Human pysch is a facinating gruel thing. Ww2 eastfront was horrific. People in surival mode will do everything to survive. Don't forget the mass shootings. If you have long range rifle skills and sniper concealment skills you have a bigger chance of survival. In the end the earth will be a better off and the remaining settlements and folks also. |

A blackout is a real possible scenario. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80390534 2 years ago we almost hadna blackout in europe and maby even worldwide. Restarting the grid cannot be done. Price for energy skyrocketing! It's good sign if they power up again Quoting: Dalek Uno 81612731 but how much power does Germany import from France ? The thing is, France took 2 nuclear plants due to fissures offline last week. Now another one due to strikes. The European grid depends on Frances power plants. Can't find any hard numbers, other than France and Switzerland exporting nuke power to Germany. Other than that, there is an article first on google search that says that France was already importing electricity this year, not exporting. Even from Germany. |

Price for energy skyrocketing! Here is a dutch article about it. You might need to use a copy paste translator. [link to panorama.nl (secure)] Friday, January 8, 2021. Europe is groaning under the pandemic. Most employees are sitting at home at the kitchen table behind their laptops when at 1.04 pm an electricity station in the Croatian village of Ernestinovo suddenly goes down. The result is a domino effect, because the European electricity network functions as one system: everything is connected, from Istanbul to Lisbon. Exactly 43 seconds after the failure, the entire European high-voltage grid is shaking to its foundations. One power plant after another is in danger of failure. European network operators can only prevent a total blackout by rapidly disconnecting entire industrial areas in France and Italy from the electricity grid. After an hour, the European power network is stable again. The incident did not even make the Dutch newspapers, but that day Europe narrowly escaped catastrophe. Thirty seconds longer, according to German media, and the entire European power network had collapsed. The total meltdown. And if power plants 'topple over' en masse, it is impossible to get them up and running again immediately. Simply because the first power plant that is restarted is immediately overloaded again. A so-called 'black start' of the European electricity network will therefore have to take place slowly, in a coordinated manner and in phases. And that takes time. First, all countries must be disconnected, after which each country must restart its own electricity network individually and region by region. An operation that takes at least five to seven days, but can also take fourteen days or longer (depending on the damage caused). |

Price for energy skyrocketing! Most generators and substations and transformers that keep our grid up are build in asia. If i'm correct in Taiwan or south korea. If a blackout happens either on purpose or just failure and transformers are blown becauce of overload. We are in deep shit. Those massive builds are not easy to transport. Most railroad has been disbanded or removed 30+ years ago. Not even speaking about chip shortages. Building them takes time. Not even speaking about civil unrest what will spiral out of control real fast. Especially with the stress of these last two years. Your friendly neighbor with her kid will not be friendly when she doesn't have food to feed her starving kids. Gangs roaming and praying on the weak. You better of learning concealment and long range shooting. Read upon sniper material. Streets will be bloody like stalingrad or 90s bosnia sniper alley. |

Well Germany has a hunters culture many people hunt. And many hunter stores sell rifles. If shit will get bad. You better off getting a rifle and the needed ammo for self defense. Get a paper map and notebook and pinpoint locations where you know is a firearm store. Or even better know people who own rifles for hunting at home If society breaks down law doesn't matter it's survival of the fittest. Be carefull tho many other will have the same idea And if you obtain only 12 gauge shells you can always make a pipe shotgun. Best bet is to group up with like minded folks for increased security. |

Price for energy skyrocketing! If you have a chimney get a hot tent stove and place the stove pipe in the existing chimney. So you can atleast start a fire and stay warm and boil water. Especially in winter months. Most dutch houses have gas fireplaces so in a blackout they are useless. No power no gas no fire for heat but you can use the above method. Close the valve of the gas tho ! Before you light up the woodstove. Best bet is to have a regular fireplace already in your house. Wood stove with flat surface so you can boil and do cooking. Place some rocks near the woodstove they absorb heat and remain hot for a long time when you fall asleep and the wood is burned up. Get the right rocks some explode. Not very dangerous but in a emergency you don't want small wounds or eye damage. I got a camping stove from pomoly cause i like bushcraft and wild camping. They are expensive but worth it. You can get cheaper ones on amazon or other retailers. |

Price for energy skyrocketing! I'll just quote myself from my other thread I just read somewhere else some uncle Intel that omicron is the scapegoat to keep people at home as grid failure is imminent. I can't link it but it sounds plausible to me, as omicron is a non-problem in South Africa apparently. So why the big measures all of a sudden? According to this, there's real panic behind the curtains for the grids, that's why omicron lockdown begin Dec 28th,they want people at home because lights go out January 1st 2022. Lockdown including stay at home and you're not allowed to drive your car order - with rolling power outages and if you're freezing at home, sorry, you're on our own, can't go elsewhere. If it comes to this in Germany (or Europe as a whole), me and you will know this uncle told the truth. Dark and cold winter ahead I guess. Prepare accordingly.
